摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-isolation optical fiber type optical component which has cladding-mode coupling loss suppressed. SOLUTION: A uni-modal type optical fiber 1 which is formed by covering a core 2 with a cladding 5 and has a refractive index distribution in an α-power profile shape is provided with the formation part of a fiber grating, where the refractive index of the core 2 varies periodically along an optical axis Z of the optical fiber, and α is 0.5. The cladding mode coupling loss is suppressed by making small the difference between the refractive index variation and propagation mode variation at the border part between the core 2 and the cladding 5 of the optical fiber 1, and when light transmission loss generated in at an about 1,520 nm wavelength band when the light transmission stopping wavelength band by the formation part 6 of the fiber grating is set to about 1,640 to 1,660 nm is suppressed to make small the light transmission loss in the use wavelength band (about 1,550 nm band) of the optical fiber 1.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical branching unit by which the surplus part of a coated optical fiber ribbon is easily stored and taken out. SOLUTION: The inside of a case is divided into a main unit 2 and a surplus storage part 3, where a ribbon insertion part 17 for a coated optical fiber ribbon 7 and 1st and 2nd guides 5 and 6 which have a larger radius of curvature than a predetermined allowable radius of curvature and guide the insertion direction of the inserted coated optical fiber ribbon 7 are provided. The main unit 2 is provided with an optical demultiplexer 24 by connecting it to an optical fiber 23 on the tip side of the coated optical fiber ribbon 7. The 1st guide 5 has a curved part 18 which is convex to the inside of the surplus part 3 and the curvature part 18 restricts the deflection direction of the coated optical fiber ribbon 7 toward the inside of the surplus storage part 3; and the 2nd guide part restricts the curvature of the coated optical fiber ribbon 7 to a radius of curvature smaller than the allowable radius of curvature due to excessive bending of the inwardly deflected coated optical fiber ribbon 7 toward the inside of the surplus storage part.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple receptacle capable of inserting a single-fiber adaptor and a multi-fiber adaptor into required insertion parts and enhanced in the latitude of its use by providing plural common insertion parts. SOLUTION: The multiple receptacle 1 is provided with plural common insertion parts 2 in the laminated state in the vertical direction. The common insertion part 2 is a square cylindrical part inserted with single-fiber adaptor 5 and the multi-fiber adaptor 10, and is provided with rails 2a and projections 2b on an upper wall and a lower wall. The adaptor 5 and the adaptor 10 are attached respectively detachably to a single-fiber optical connector and a multi- fiber optical connector. When the adaptor 5 or the adaptor 10 is inserted into the required common insertion part 2, the adaptors 5, 10 are guided by the rail 2a, and its main body or a housing 10a is sent into the common insertion part 2 while being guided by the inner wall of the common insertion part 2. 摘要： PURPOSE: To prevent warpage deformation due to temp. change in the environment and to stabilize optical characteristics by controlling the coeffts. of linear thermal expansion of a substrate equal to that of an auxiliary plate and making the film thickness of the substrate equal to that of the auxiliary plate. CONSTITUTION: A polyimide substrate 2 (10μm film thickness) is formed by a spin coating method on a glass substrate. Then a dielectric multilayered film of SiO2 and TiO2 as an optical function film 2 (11μm film thickness) is formed by vapor deposition. Further, an auxiliary plate 5 of the same material having the same thickness as the substrate 2 is formed by a spin coating method. A crosslinking agent (such as an org. titanium resin) is applied as a thin layer between the film 3 and the auxiliary plate 5 to increase the adhesion property between these. Then the substrate 2 is peeled from the glass plate to obtain an optical thin film 1. By this method, warpage deformation due to temp. change in the environment can be prevented, and especially, when the refractive index of the substrate 2 is made equal to that of the auxiliary plate 5, the same optical characteristics can be obtd. for either surface of the optical thin film 1 as the front surface.
