    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a less-expensive air cleaner having a high insulative characteristic as regards an electrical power supplying contact element fixing section. SOLUTION: An insulator 52 and an insulating plate 53 are combined and fixed to a fixing surface 47 connected to the ground. An insulating space 54 is defined between the insulator 52 and the insulating plate 53. A head part 57a of a bolt 57 having an electrical power supplying contact element fixed thereto is exposed out in the insulating space 54. A rib 60 at the inner surface of the insulator 52 enters a concave groove 72 of the insulating plate 53 with a predetermined clearance and then the rib 70 of the insulating plate 53 enters a concave groove 61 at the inner surface of the insulator 52. With such an arrangement as above, it is possible to elongate an extending surface distance from the bolt head part to the fixing surface along the surface of the insulating plate and further to assure an insulating distance. It is also possible to eliminate filler material.

    • PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of electrifying dust in air to prevent a self-excited vibration phenomenon of an electrode wire by arranging the elec trode wire close to an one counter electrode plate and installing a member for restricting an air flow between another counter electrode and the electrode wire. CONSTITUTION: An electrode wire 1a is arranged to one counter electrode 22 at a prescribed distance X from a central position C of a pair of counter electrodes 21, 22. Thus the combined force F of electrostatic forces generated between the electrode wire 1a and the counter electrode plates 21, 22 acts so that the amplitude of the electrode wire la may be restrained. Therefore, minute displacement generated in the electrode wire 1a is immediately attenuated and does not reach self-excited vibration. On the other counter electrode 21 side far from the electrode wire 1a, corona current is decreased. Further, since the flow of air passing between the counter electrode plate 21 and the electrode wire 1a is restricted by a flange part 21b, the flow velocity of air flowing between them is retarded. Thus the electrifying efficiency of dust for the whole ionization device is improved.

In this way, between a dust collecting air flow passage PS of one dust collecting part body 210 and a dust collecting air flow passage PS of the other dust collecting body 210, a clearance C is divided at the time of continuous setting. By this constitution, the dust collecting air flow passages PS of the dust collecting bodies 210, 210 each communicate with the dust collecting flow passages PS through the clearance C. As a result, air that has passed through an ionizing part 10 is introduced into the air flow passage PS on the downstream side from the air flow passage PS on the upstream side through the clearance C. Therefore, pressure loss is effectively restrained even when a clearance 53 of the air flow passage PS is narrow.

Fluctuation of the dimensional difference in the thickness of each of the electrode plates 10 and 20 and the projected height of the spacer itself are absorbed thereby and the specified distances h1 and h2 are ensured.
