    • PURPOSE:To prevent strain from taking place due to dancing of a thin and long- length workpiece upon grinding thereof, to enhance the degree of accuracy, by providing a guide surface in the inside space of a grindstone so that the guide surface is made flush with the same horizontal plane as that of a grinding surface so that the workpiece is ground while it is guided by the guide surface. CONSTITUTION:Upon grinding, after a grindstone member 12 which is mounted on a stationary shaft 3 by means of a holder 8 is moved with the use of a nut 15 so that the guide surface of a guide member 17 in the grindstone member 12 is made flush with the same horizontal plane as that of the grinding surface of the grindstone member 12, a hollow rotary shaft 4 is rotated by a motor through a belt, and this rotation is transmitted to a grindstone 13 so that a workpiece fed through rolls is ground while it is guided by the guide member 17 in the grindstone member 12. Since the workpiece during grinding is guided by the guide member 17 which is flush with the grindstone 13, no dancing which has been conventinally inevitable in the space takes place, and further, no strain comes about when the workpiece is thin, thereby the finish grinding process with a high degree of accuracy may be made.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a method for repulsing the bird, capable of preventing a bird strike comprising the suction of the bird into the engine of an airplane and capable of minimizing the affection of sounds on peripheral regions by preliminarily preventing the invasion of the bird such as a common gull in an air route on the periphery of an airport and reasonably and effectively expelling the bird in the shortest distance direction or from the rear side, even when the bird accidentally invades in the region, and further to provide a device for repulsing the bird. CONSTITUTION: The device for repulsing the bird with the sound is provided with a detection means for detecting at least the bird flied in an air route V1 for the takeoff and landing of airplanes and further the position and flying direction of the bird, sound-outputting means F1, F2 to Fn having directivity and disposed e.g. by floating the sound-outputting means on a sea below the air route region V1 at a prescribed distance, and a signal-treating section for discriminating and judging the signals outputted from the detection means and subsequently outputting the sounds from the sound-outputting means positioned at the optimal sites.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce unbalances of a pulsation factor and a phase current between a stringing current and a motor current by a method wherein coupling reactors are inserted in series in DC motor groups divided into two groups, respectively, and four pairs of electronic switches are inserted in series connected terminals, respectively. CONSTITUTION:The coupling reactors LC are inserted in series in the respective series connected DC motor groups whcich are divided into the two groups, and the four pairs of the electronic switches S1, S2, S1', S2' are inserted in the respective series connected terminals. By feeding control signals to the electronic switches S1- S2' to be turned ON-OFF by two phases, average voltages applied to the respective motor groups are continuously controlled extending over the whole range from zero to a power voltage ES, including series-parallel controls of the two groups, and the loads on the respective motors are designed to uniformly be alloted. For example, armatures M of the eight series-wound motors and magnetic field windings F of the electric car are connected as an equivalent circuit shown in the diagram to chopper- control as mentioned above using thyristors as the electronic switches S1-S2'.
