    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray generator capable of generating an X-ray having intensity higher than that of a conventional one; and its method.
      SOLUTION: This X-ray generation method includes: a first step of forming an electron beam e by accelerating electrons by using an acceleration device; and a second step of making the electron beam e pass in parallel to a surface of a flat target T at a distance of 10-100 nm from the surface of the flat target T. The X-ray generation method is characterized in that at least a surface layer part of the target T is formed of a substance easily generating an X-ray X by transition radiation by being polarized by interaction with the electron beam e.
