The secondary electron emitting material can be formed with touching the negative electrode 3 by altering a part, of the member of a conventional panel structure, and a low voltage discharge with a uniform discharge voltage between the cells appears following short, time aging.

    • PURPOSE:To increase luminous efficiency and luminance of a plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION:In a plasma display panel, in which a front face panel 1 and a back face panel 2, which is provided with cell barriers 3 constituting plural matrices or linear display element cells, are arranged so that they are faced with each other parallelly, the cell barriers 3 are arranged approximately vertically to the back face plate 2 while a fluorophor layer 6, which is formed into a taper extending toward the front face side, is provided on a wall face of each of the cell barriers 3. The fluorophor layer 6 can be thickened without sacrificing any discharge space, and a cross section of the phosphor screen is formed into an approximate radial shape or an approximate 2n-th degree curve (n=0, 1, 2,...), which are bent to the back face plate 2 side and are expanded gradually toward the front face plate 1 side, so that outgoing of the light emitted from the fluorophor layer 6 to the front face plate 1 side is carried out efficiently and luminous efficiency and luminance are increased.
