    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyester fiber cords which maintain characteristics such as dimensional stability, high strength and durability, are simultaneously thermally not melted at high temperature, and have excellent heat resistance, and to provide a material useful as the belt and carcass member of a tire from the fiber cords.
      SOLUTION: The heat-resistant cross-linked polyester fiber cords which have excellent heat resistance are characterized by (1) immersing polyester fibers comprising a copolyester in a compound having at least two unsaturated groups, irradiating the treated fibers with electron beams or γ-rays, and then processing the treated fibers into the cords, or (2) immersing polyester fiber cords preliminarily treated with a carrier agent in a compound having at least two unsaturated groups, and then irradiating the treated fiber cords with electron beams or γ-rays.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyester cords for reinforcing rubber that has high elastic modulus, markedly improved heat-resistant adhesion in the case where the cords are buried in rubber compound and exposed to high temperature for a long time and in the high temperature atmosphere and further has a cord hardness softened to a practically acceptable level on the viewpoint of the fatigue resistance and of the fabrication of the rubber-reinforced products. SOLUTION: When an epoxy compound is previously applied in the yarn-making step or the cord-twisting step and the adhesion property to the rubber is given to the polyester fiber material, the polyester fiber material is treated with the treating solution including (A) blocked isocyanate aqueous solution, (B) epoxy resin dispersion and (C) resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex (RFL) through a one-step or two or more multiple step, then they are heat-treated under the tension normalized to more than 0.2 cN/dtex thereby producing the polyester cord for reinforcing rubber.
