    • PURPOSE:To attain listening without no listening problem even with the reception by a conventional monaural receiver and also bringing the occupied band of a side band wave within a band being a similar degree to that of a conventional AB broadcast reception by transmitting a low frequency as the sum of left/right sound signals and a high frequency as a square mean value of the difference between the sum and the subtraction of the left/right sound signals. CONSTITUTION:The left/right sound signals L, R applied to input terminals 1, 1' are added/subtracted by a matrix circuit 2 and converted into a sum signal (L+R) and a difference signal (L-R). The sum signal (L+R) is modulated into a signal of (1+L+R)cosomegat at an amplitude modulator 3 and the difference signal (L-R) is modulated into a -(L-R)sinomegat at a balanced modulator 4. Outputs of the amplitude modulator 3 and the balanced modulator 4 are synthesized at an adder 5. An AM stereo signal S transmitted to the sound signal with a low frequency is S=(1+L+R)cos(omegat+phi) and an AM stereo signal S transmitted to a sound signal with a high frequency is S=[(1+L+R) +(L-R) ] .cos(omegat+phi).

    • PURPOSE:To multiplex sound signals within one horizontal scan period and transmit them without providing particular multiplex period for the sound signals by compressing time axes of a luminance signal Y and chrominance signal C, by phase-modulating synchronizing signals consisting of sine wave bursts of TV signals by a time-division multiplexed TCM system through digital sound signals, and multiplexing the sound signals. CONSTITUTION:PCM sound signals are read out from a buffer memory BM during synchronizing signal generation period, applied to a phase modulation circuit PM and the phase of synchronizing signals of the sine wave burst are phase- modulated by the read out PCM sound signals. The phase-modulated synchronizing signals are inserted for horizontal synchronization of a luminance signal Y and chrominance signal C, and their unnecessary higher harmonic components are eliminated by a low-pass filter LPF1 to be sent out as TV signals into which the sound signals are multiplexed by a TCM system. A receiving side separates synchronizing signals, and reproduces the sound signals by phase-demodulating the separated synchronizing signals.

    • PURPOSE:To detect a display signal at a high speed by triggering a monostable multivibrator with an AM stereo display signal fed from a difference signal demodulated output, and setting the output pulse width of said multivibrator longer than the period of the stereo display signal to perform a stereo display with the output pulse. CONSTITUTION:A stereo display signal is extracted from a difference signal demodulated output through an LPF1 of an AM stereo receiver. This display signal is amplified by an amplifying circuit 2 and converted into a square wave which is applied with waveform shaping through a waveform shaping circuit 3. A triggerable monostable multivibrator 4 is triggered at the rise of the square wave, and the output pulse of the vibrator 4 is supplied to an output pulse display circuit 5. The time width of said output pulse is set longer than the cycle of the stereo display signal. The circuit 5 displays the stereo signal in response to the output pulse of the vibrator 4. Then a stereo display signal is detected at a high speed.

    • PURPOSE:To integrate a signal generating circuit and apply it to the demodulating circuit of an AM stereo signal, by providing a circuit which uses the signal from a phase detecting circuit as the input and outputs a signal approximate to tan characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A current, which corresponds to a phase phi of a phase detecting circuit, from an input terminal 5 is applied to the first circuit consisting of the first and the second amplifying circuits 6 and 8 and a hyperbolic arc tangent circuit 7, and the output is added to an adder. The output of the second circuit consisting of the third amplifying circuit 9 is added to the adder, and the signal approximate to the tan characteristics is outputted from an output terminal 10. The circuit of the first circuit is constituted with a feedback differential amplifier having the tan characteristics, and an output signal of B, btanh (X/a) (B, a, and b are constants) is generated for an input signal X from the first circuit. An output signal of B(1-b/a) is generated from the second circuit 9 for the input signal X, and both output signals are added by the adder, and the signal approximate to the tan characteristics is outputted from the output terminal 10.
