    • PURPOSE:To prevent the pasage way from swaying and design steady rest cables to function as scaffolds for maintenance and inspection and safety cables, by providing the steady rest cables extending both banks, right under the cross girder of a small suspension bridge. CONSTITUTION:A foundation of stairs from the road 19 at the left bank to the suspension bridge 20 is used in common as the anchor block 22b for the main cable and the anchor block 35 for the steady rest cable. And low tower posts 24b are erected at the uppermost level of the stairs. On the other hand, high tower posts 24a are erected on the foundation block 35 at the right bank and an anchor block 22a for the main cable is installed at the rear side of the tower posts 24a. The main cable 3 are stretched between the tower posts 24a, 24b and both ends 3a, 3b are fixed to the anchor blocks 22a, 22b. Suspended cables 5 are extended down from the main cable 3 at every equal distance and connected to both ends of the cross girders 6 to support stringers, floor plates, and handrails 10 of the passage way. A steady rest 30 is installed right under the cross girder 6 and anchors 30a, 30b of both ends are fixed to anchor blocks 35 respectively and supported at the flange under the cross girder 6 at every equal distance by U-shaped bolts 31 and fastened with nuts so as to remove them from the upper side.

    • PURPOSE:To set a damping force in an up-and-down vibration mode and a pitch vibration mode independently and freely variably and to enhance the efficiency of a measuring operation by a method wherein vibrators whose electromechanical conversion performance is equal are connected respectively to two positions at a structure, a translation displacement and a rotation displacement are applied and the damping force is applied to the vibrators. CONSTITUTION:A power-supply circuit which makes driving electric power flow to both vibrators 41, 42 is constituted of an oscillation unit 20, of driving output circuits 221, 222 and of an unbalance adjusting circuit 24 having a resistance R0. In a vibrating state, both vibrators are connected to the driving output circuits 221, 222, by a switch SW, and the electric power is introduced. When the vibrating state is shifted to a damping state, the switch SW is changed over, and input connecting terminals 101', 101'', 102', 102'' for the individual vibrators 41, 42 are connected to variable damping resistances RA, RB. At this time, the unbalance adjusting circuit 24 adjusts an adjustment-variable part, and an unbalance voltage is made variable by changing a voltage value in such a way that, e.g. the voltage is made identical to a voltage sent to the driving output circuit 221 and that its phase is in-phase or in opposite phase. Thereby, various conditions can be set freely.
