    • PURPOSE: To eliminate a need for using an expensive metal mold, enable the card reader/writer carrying mechanism to be manufacture at low cost, and furthermore enable the mechanism to be made smaller in size by using a spring made out of a wire rod as the pressing force of a driven roller where a card is pressed onto a drive roller so as to be held therein. CONSTITUTION: In the card carrying mechanism where a card is held by both a driven roller 3 and a drive roller 5, and carried by the drive roller 5, as the pressing force of the driven roller 3 where the card is pressed onto the drive roller 5 so as to be held therein, a spring 6 made out of a wire rod is used. Here, the spring 6 made out of a wire rod has a fixing hole at its one end, also has an arm which presses the driven roller 3 using the hole section as a fulcrum, the fixing hole is so formed that a wire rod is made rounded so as to be coiled in a spring shape, and it does structurally its duty as the locking of a screw 1. Since the spring 6 made out of a wire rod is used as the pressing force of the driven roller 3, there is no need for using an expensive metal mold, and the spring does not occupy much height, the mechanism can thereby be made smaller in size, and effectively performs to prevent the loosening of the fixing screw.

    • PURPOSE:To easily adjust the clearance between a press roller and the glass surface of an image sensor so as to improve the workability by providing rotatable rollers for securing the clearance between the press roller and glass surface of the image sensor. CONSTITUTION:Idle rollers 27 composed of hard rubber, etc., are fitted to a shaft 21 which is coaxial to a press roller 18 on both sides of the roller 18. The rollers 27 are larger in radius than the roller 18 and the difference is corresponding to an appropriate clearance between the roller 18 and the glass surface of an image sensor 17 so that the rollers 27 can rotate irrespective of the roller 18. When a slip 10 is carried to an image reading mechanism 16, sensors 20c and 20c detect the leading edge of the slip 10. A control section receives signals from the sensors 20c and 20d and energizes a solenoid 25 to operate. The solenoid 24 attracts a spring 24 in the direction shown by the arrow C' and a bracket 22 rotates around a shaft 23 in the direction shown by the arrow B'.
