    • PURPOSE:To obtain a large reduction gear ratio, while keeping the dimension of a speed change gear in the radial direction as small as possible, by providing a sub-speed changing mechanism with a countershaft, an epicyclic gear mechanism, which is supported to the countershaft in a rotatable manner, first and second sub-gear trains, both of which are coupled to input and output shafts, respectively, in a rotatable manner, and an engaging/disengaging means. CONSTITUTION:When an extra low speed stage is selected, namely when a reduction gear 5, which forms a first sub-gear train Ga, is engaged with a sun gear 9 of an epicyclic gear mechanism 16 lying on a counter shaft 8 by a synchro-mesh 10 (engaging/ disengaging means) in such a manner that both gears 5 and 9 rotate as an integrated body, the gear 9 rotates in the same direction as that of the gear 5, while three pinion gears 13, which are engaged with the gear 9 along its periphery, rotate in the reverse direction because of a rotation, which is given to the gear 5 by an input shaft 2 via a driving gear 1. Since the center position of a gear 13 is fixed by both a crank case 11 and a pinion shaft 12, a ring gear 14 is driven in the reverse direction to that of the gear 9. An extra slow speed driven gear 15 is driven by the gear 14 via an external both gear 14b, which forms a second sub-gear train Gb, so that a rotation in the same direction as that of a going-forward stage of a main speed change stage is given to an output shaft 3.

    • PURPOSE:To contrive the reduction of lateral width in the total unit by arranging a plurality of transmission shafts in a transmission case in a horizontal direction and providing a speed change mechanism between each transmission shaft, in the case of a walk type work machine in which an engine and the transmission case are arranged in the longitudinal direction of a machine body. CONSTITUTION:In a walk type work machine, an engine is mounted to a frame extended to the rear from a transmission case 1, and a walking transmission case 5, provided with a wheel 4, is connected to a lower part of the transmission case 1. Here an input shaft 17 of the transmission case 1, connected to an output shaft protruded to the front from the engine, is arranged to be displaced in either one of the right or left. While the first to third transmission shafts 20 to 22 are horizontally arranged in the transmission case 1, and turning force of the input shaft 17 is transmitted to the first transmission shaft 20 through bevel gears 18, 19. The first speed change mechanism 40 is provided between the first and second transmission shafts 20, 21, while the second speed change mechanism 41 is provided between the second and third transmission shafts 21, 22.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the number of gears required and to reduce the size in the front and rear directions being the total of respective gear widths by constructing one shift path of a main shift mechanism though projection of shift member which is part of an auxiliary shift mechanism in a rear chamber. CONSTITUTION:When a front drive clutch 12 is connected to a spline 49 of a gear 52 and slide gears 41, 42 are connected to spline 36 of gear members 27, 38 while a rear drive clutch 12 is set at neutral position, an input shaft 20 driven through a shaft coupling 19 from a transmission shaft 18 of a changeover transmission mechanism 1 perform transmission at first speed from a transmission mechanism 13 to left and right rear wheels. Next, when the front clutch 12 is disengaged from the spline to be set at neutral position and the rear clutch 12 is connected to the spline of a gear 53, transmission is performed at second speed. When the drive clutch 12 is connected to a spline 49 of one speed change member 9, transmission is performed at third speed.
