      SOLUTION: When the drum cover for opening/closing the opening of the drum is open without being properly closed, the open end side of a cover main panel is locked by an end part disposed on the inner wall of a water tub. When the drum is rotated in the direction of the open end of the drum cover for only a prescribed period (Steps S3 and S4), a control circuit determines the opened/closed state of the drum cover based on a detected angle of rotation (Step S5).

Whether the water level detecting means 18 is turned off or not is judged and, when it is judged not in OFF operation, it is judged an abnormal draining since the water level in the washing room 3 does not descend to be lower than a prescribed water level H and an abnormality is reported.

CONSTITUTION:A pulse generator 10 generates the number of pulse signals in response to the rotational amount of pickups rotationally operated. A control circuit (process means) 14 counts the number of pulses generated by the generator 10, has each process action taken when the counted value is in excess of a set value, and cancels the counted value of the pulse signals when the counted value is less than the set value on condition that no following pulse signal is generated by the generator 10 within a set period of time. Namely, since the counted value of pulse signals is canceled by the circuit 14 when no following pulse signal is generated by the generator 10 within a set period of time in the case that the number of pulse signals generated by the generator 10 is less than a set value, even if erroneous operations are repeated, it is possible that no process action is actually performed.
