The supplying indication part 10 decides the point of a peak time from the inputted accumulating totals of the numbers of drips Sp10 7 and gives the indication for supplying a killing agent to a hopper 7. The killing agent is charged into the converter 1 from the hopper 7 to restrain slopping.

CONSTITUTION:The metal strip 13 is transferred by a group of table rollers 9 in the down stream of a finishing mill 10. The attracting device 1 is equipped above the metal strip 13, a function moving it synchronously with the metal strip 13 and a function returning it to the original position are given to the device 1 and an electromagnet 14 attracting the front end part and/or the rear end part of the metal strip is prepared. Further, on the upstream stage of a moving area of the attracting device 1, spray nozzles 5 of the cooling device of the metal strip 13 are provided in combination. At least, the surfaces of the front end part and the rear end part of the metal strip 13 are cooled below the magnetic transformation point to improve the strip metal attracting property of an electromagnet 14. In this way, variation of a sheet width caused by the variation of tension can be refrained.

    • PURPOSE:To secure automation and safely of steel tapping operation of a metallurgical vessel and maintenance operation after steel tapping by arranging a molten metal discharging hole having the prescribed angle to vertical axis of the furnace at the bottom part of the melting furnace of the refining furnace. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal discharging hole 2 is arranged upward with the prescribed angle at the part from corner part of the furnace bottom to the furnace belly part in a converter 1. This molten metal discharging hole 2 is opened by breaking through packing layer formed by sintering therein with operation of a remote controlling mechanical device. Further, after discharging the molten metal, the inner face of molten metal discharging hole 2 is prepared with the operation of the remote controlling mechanical device. The above hole opening device 3 has such constitution that a pushing rod 10 for opening hole fitted to a supporting lever 12 is worked in advancing/retreating directions with an air cylinder 13. Further, the above preparing device 4 has such constitution that rotation and percussion force and given with a drifter 16 moving to advancing/retreating direction to a bit 14 having a little smaller diameter than that of the molten metal discharging hole 2 fitted to a road 15 through a guide cell 17. Further, it is desirable that these devices 3, 4 are fitted to a traversing carriage 7 under assembling and traversely shifted and faced to the above discharging hole 2.

CONSTITUTION:In the cylindrical furnace 1 having opening part 2 at furnace upper part and primary tuyeres 3, 3', slag tapping hole 10 and iron tapping hole 5 at furnace bottom part and lower furnace wall and secondary tuyere 14 at upper furnace wall, the coke packing layer 7 is formed from the furnace bottom to level including the primary tuyere 3 and at the upper part thereof, the packing layer 8 consists of essentially the scrap and iron ore is formed to level including the secondary tuyere 4. Successively, by blowing the combustion supporting gas from the primary tuyere 3 and secondary tuyere 4, the molten iron 9 is produced and the powder consists of essentially CaO is blown into the molten iron 9 from the tuyere 3' with inert gas as carrier gas and stirred to execute desulfurization. By this method, the molten iron 9 having low sulfur content is obtd. With the cylindrical furnace 1 having comparatively simple construction.

    • PURPOSE:To efficiently cool rolling rolls and to cool without the change of cooling capacity even if the diameter is changed due to roll grinding, etc., by sealing cooling water by abuting a water-cooled jacket on water feeding and drain passages and the rolling rolls and injecting plural pressurized water on the opposed face of the rolling rolls. CONSTITUTION:When the rolling rolls 10 are cooled with a cooling devices 1, cooling water 11 is fed from the water feeding passages 5 for cooling water. Cooling water 1 is drained off from the drain passages 6 for cooling water after cooling the rolls 10 through the passage 4 for cooling water which is formed of the surface of rolling roll and inside surface of the water-cooled jacket. At that time, because boundary layer 12 where heat transfer is obstructed is produced on the surface of the rolling rolls, pressurized water 13 is injected from injection nozzles 7 there. Thereby, the boundary layer 12 which is produced on the surface of the rolls is broken with pressurized water 13. As that result, it is possible that the rolling rolls 10 and cooling water 11 are brought into direct contact with each other and cooling effect can be considerably improved.

    • PURPOSE:To perform energy-saving production for high quality steel by mounting a heat retaining material layer for preventing radiation whose inside is coated with a ceramic plate or a heat insulating steel plate on the inside of a gate body frame straddling a roll table. CONSTITUTION:When the inside of the heat retaining material 13 for preventing radiation (ceramic fiber, etc.) is coated with a ceramic plate 12 or heat resistant steel plate, moisture absorption of the heat retaining material can be prevented, consequently, its deterioration and embrittlement are restrained, the reduction of the heat retaining performance and the partial separation of the heat retaining material are prevented. Covering with a ceramic plate is recommended from the side of heat resistance, some ceramic plate is high in heat resistance and does not generate cracks though it is heated in high temperature and then dipped into water and does not undergo thermal change though it is put in cooling water. Besides, it does not absorb moisture and, further, has a characteristic as heat retaining material in itself. However, combination of small blocks is desired to be applied to avoid the influence of thermal strain, etc.

    • PURPOSE:To raise the secondary combustion rate of exhaust gas and to refine molten iron into molten steel with high heat efficiency by blowing in gaseous oxygen for secondarily burning the CO in exhaust gas along with a nonreducing powdery coolant in addition to the decarburizing gaseous oxygen at the time of refining molten iron into molten steel by oxygen blowing. CONSTITUTION:When molten iron 14 is refined into molten steel in a top and bottom-blown converter 10 by oxidation decarburization using oxygen, gaseous O2 is blown against the surface of the molten iron 14 from an oxygen top- blowing lance 11. The CO contained in the exhaust gas generated in the oxidation decarburization is secondarily burned, and the molten iron 14 is heated by the produced heat to improve the heat efficiency. In this case, nonreducing particulate matter such as iron ore, chromium ore, manganese ore, and limestone is blown as a coolant into the converter 10 from a horizontal tuyere 12 or an inclined tuyere 13 along with gaseous O2 to lower the temp. of the secondary- combustion flame, hence the reduction of the CO2 in the combustion gas by the C and Fe in the molten iron 14 is prevented, CO combustion is promoted, and the heat efficiency of the converter is improved.
