    • PURPOSE:To provide economical and effective operation by regulating an ignition phase angle to keep a signal level of a current detection means constant for controlling an input to a motor-driven blower to be kept constant. CONSTITUTION:When a vacuum cleaner is operated, a phase angle for ignition of a TRIAC 35 is determined based on a signal from a hand operation part 15 for controlling an input to a motor-driven blower 2. A reference value (a current command value) is determined to control a signal level of a current detection means 31 to be kept constant based on a signal from the hand operation part 15. Next, the motor-driven blower 2 is controlled in such a way that the signal level of the current detection means 31 is kept constant by a phase control means 33 based on the determined current command value. Quantity of dust in a dust collecting chamber 11 is thus increased, for example, to decrease load on the motor-driven blower 2, and when the current value is lowered, the output signal level of the current detection means 31 is lowered, in which case the phase firing angle is increased to return the current value of the motor-driven blower 2 to the previous level.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the controlling of power consumption as target at a specified point by detecting current of a vacuum blower to compute a power consumption, which is compared with a target value preset to minimize a difference. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 15 transmits an operation command signal to a D2 terminal from a hose hand SW circuit and a trigger signal to a G terminal of a bidirectional semiconductor element 5 through a trigger circuit 12 from an OUT terminal. As a result, main electrodes T1 and T2 are electrified to rotate an electric blower 4. A voltage to be applied to the electric blower 4 changes depending on a timing of outputting the trigger signal and hence, the current varies to allow the changing of power consumption. A quantity Q of air and moreover, the power consumption of a cleaner is determined by computation in the microcomputer 15. The power consumption at the maximum point Q=Qp of a sucking power P is almost the same as the power consumption at a quantity of released air Q=Q1 without control and can coincide with a target value. Power is lowered to perform an operation with Q>Q2 when a suction port is lifted in the air.

CONSTITUTION:A detected value detected from a pressure sensor 10 having a detecting section in a main body flow course is fed to a control circuit 9, as signal. In the control circuit, it is identified that cleaning is not performed actually, if the detected value is not fluctuated for a previously determined time, and a device is controlled to lower the rotational frequency of a motor fan 2. Besides, when the signal of static pressure fluctuating during a specified time in the operational state of the lowered rotational frequency of the motor fan 2 comes, by the control circuit 9, it is identified that the cleaning is started, and the device is controlled to reset the rotational frequency of the motor fan 2 into a normal state. If the device is controlled in this manner, when a cleaner is not operated, a suction force is lowered, and wasteful energy can be saved, and noise when the cleaning is not performed is effectively attenuated.
