    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device having no limit for the number of magnetic poles of a rotor magnet and being usable for driving a wide range of brushless motors.SOLUTION: A motor drive device drives a DC brushless motor 1 of a three-phase n-pole structure provided with a motor body 10 including a coil unit and a rotor magnet having a magnet fixed onto a revolving shaft and whose number of magnetic poles being n, and magnetic pole detection elements 11, 12, and 13. When driving the DC brushless motor 1, for example, one rotation period T of the rotor magnet is calculated from a hall signal period which is half of the number n of the magnetic pole of the output signal of one magnetic pole detection element 11. One period S of a sinusoidal drive signal is obtained from S=T/(n/2). One period S of a sinusoidal drive signal is updated for each period of the output signal of the magnetic pole detection element 11.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor device with a magnet clutch capable of maintaining a superior torque transmission performance even if the transmission and cutoff of a torque is alternately repeated for a long period of time and at high frequency.SOLUTION: The motor device comprises a worm gear 9, a helical gear 6 with an output portion 6a that meshes with the worm gear, a first magnet 2 rotated by the driving force of a motor 1 and a second magnet 3 rotatable integrally with the worm gear and movable axially and integrally with the same. The worm gear meshes with the helical gear in a first position in which the second magnet is attracted to the first magnet. The external force from a driven mechanism 15 is applied as an axial force to the worm gear positioned in the first position. Thereby, the second magnet is separated from the first magnet, so the worm gear is moved to a second position in which the transmission of the torque in combination with the helical gear is blocked. Two or more magnetic poles are formed in the rotation direction of each magnet on the attraction surfaces of the first and second magnets.
