    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift device that has a reduced size in the direction of communicating a first movement path with a second movement path.SOLUTION: In a shift lever device 10, when a shift lever 18 is turned along a manual transmission hole 26B, a first engaging portion 20 or a second engaging portion 22 of the shift lever 18 is inserted into a first locking hole 28 or a second locking hole 30 of a strength gate 24 to lock turning of the shift lever 18 toward an automatic transmission hole 26A. In the shift lever 18, the first engaging portion 20 and the second engaging portion 22 are arranged on the vehicle front side and vehicle rear side of a support body 18, respectively. This can prevent the shift lever 18 from becoming large in the horizontal direction of the vehicle by the first engaging portion 20 and the second engaging portion 22, decrease a turning range of the shift lever 18 toward lateral directions of the vehicle, enabling downsizing of the shift lever device 10 in the lateral directions of the vehicle.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key and a locking device which secure a sufficient number of key pattern combinations without changing conventional processing accuracy of an inner groove.SOLUTION: A cut out portion (10) is formed at a part (P1) of an inner groove (13) of a key plate (1) so as not to engage with a tumbler (201) of a rotor (21) of a cylinder lock (2). A tumbler provided at a position corresponding to the cut out portion recedes from an outer periphery of the rotor without engaging with the inner groove of the inserted key plate. If an incorrect key without the cut out portion is inserted, the tumbler engages with the inner groove and the rotor is locked. Consequently, presence or absence of the cut out portion can be used as key pattern combinations which does not cause malfunction among them.
