    • PURPOSE:To ensure that continuous solvent extraction can be performed by taking out a mixture of oil and water containing a sediment generated in an oil and water interface in a settlement tank of a mixer settler, from the settlement tank, then filtering said mixture continuously using a filtration assistant, and circulating filtrate through a device. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of oil and water containing a sediment generated in the oil and water interface of a settlement tank for a mixer settler which is an extraction device, is taken out of the settlement tank at a ratio of about (5-1)/10 times a liquid amount sent to a next-stage mixer settler. Next, the mixture of oil and water containing said sediment is continuously filtered with the help of a filter using a filtration assistant containing ashless pulp and activated carbon with a particulate size of 1 to 100mum at a weight ratio of 1:10 to 10:1. Then the filtrate is circulated in the mixer settler. As a result, it is possible to enhance extraction efficiency, separation efficiency and contact efficiency and thereby make possible the continuous performance of solvent extraction.

    • PURPOSE:To simply recover low concn. Rh at a high recovering rate and high purity by adding SnCl2 and CuCl2 to a rhodium-hydrochloric acid soln. having specified hydrochloric acid concn. and absorbing Rh by dialkyl sulfide- impregnated resin. CONSTITUTION:Hydrochloric acid is added to a rhodium-hydrochloric acid soln. including base metals and having low Rh concn. to regulate the hydrochloric acid concn. to 1 to 6 N. Next, SnCl2 and CuCl2 are added to this soln. The amounts of the SnCl2 and CuCl2 to be added are preferably regulated to 10 to 50 times respectively, by molar ratio, to Rh. After that, this soln. is brought into contact with porous resin impregnated with preferably >=30wt.% dialkyl sulfide to adsorb Rh. Next, this porous resin adsorbed with Rh is washed by dilute hydrochloric acid of 0.5 to 3 N. to remove Sn, Cu or the like and is thereafter baked at about 800 deg.C. The obtd. rhodium oxide is reduced by a hydrogen gas, is thereafter mixed with NaCl, in which a Cl2 gas is blown, and chlorination is executed at 800 to 950 deg.C for >= one hr. In this way, high purity Rh can be obtd. at approximately 100% recovering rate in the shape of soluble sodium salt of chlorhodic acid.

    • PURPOSE:To effectively utilize tin by bringing an org. solvent contg. a dialkyl sulfide into contact with a hydrochloric acid soln. added with bivalent tin, then cleaning the org. phase with specified dil. hydrochloric acid to transfer the tin in the org. phase to the hydrochloric acid phase and adding a reducing agent to obtain tin powder which is reutilized. CONSTITUTION:Palladium is extracted from a soln. of palladium in hydrochloric acid contg. platinum and a base metal such as tin with an org. solvent contg. a dialkyl sulfide. In this case, the bivalent tin is previously brought into contact with 6-12N hydrochloric acid contg. 5-200g/l of bivalent tin and an org. solvent contg. a dialkyl sulfide, and then the org. solvent layer is cleaned with 0.3-1N hydrochloric acid and separated. The tin contained in the separated dil. hydrochloric acid is reduced to form the tin powder which is filtered off and the tin powder is again dissolved in hydrochloric acid to obtain a soln. of bivalent tin which is reused. Besides, SBH is used as the tin reducing agent, and the tin is reduced by diaphragm electrolysis.

    • PURPOSE:To recover platinum group metals at a high recovering rate at low cost by mixing the hydrochloric acid of platinum group metals including tin with an organic solvent including alkyl phosphonic monoester, stirring this mixture and extracting the tin into the organic solvent layer. CONSTITUTION:The hydrocloric acid soln. of platinum group metals including tin and subjected to the regulation of acidity is mixed with an organic solvent including alkyl phosphonic monoester which is not mingled with water, and this mixture is stirred. In this way, the tin is extracted into the organic solvent layer. Next, the hydrochloric acid soln. layer of the platinum metals is separated from the above organic solvent layer. In this way, the tin in the platinum group metals is separated. By this method, the platinum group metals can simply be isolated in a short time from the mixture or mixed soln. of the platinum group metals and tin. Furthermore, the organic solvent layer with the above extracted tin is washed by a hydrochloric acid having high concn. of >=9 normal, by which the tin can be extracted and separated into the above hydrocloric acid soln. Moreover, as the above platinum group metals, platinum, palladium, rhodium or the like can be used, and as the alkyl phosphonic monoester, 2-ethylhexyl phosphonic monoacid-2-ethylhexyl can be used.
