    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide low-cost products by simplification of stages by applying metallic powder constituting intermetallic compds. on joint surfaces and heating up these joint surfaces to form metallic compds., thereby joining the joint surfaces. SOLUTION: The intermetallic compds. includes Ni3 Al, NiAl, TiAl, Fe3 Al, etc., Ni, Al, Ti, Fe, etc., and metallic powder are used as the metallic powder to constitute these intermetallic compds. The metallic powder is dispersed into a solvent, such as acetone to be made to a slurry form, and is used by applying the resulted slurry. The examples of the joint surfaces to be joined include Fe-base alloys, Ni-base alloys, etc., of carbon steel, low-alloy steel, stainless steel, etc. The temp. at the time of joining the joint surfaces is usually about >=600 deg.C but the excessively high temp. is disadvantageous in terms of the deformation of the materials to be joined and a treatment cost and, therefore, the temp. is preferably so determined as to meet the heat treatment (stress relief annealing, etc.) temp. of the materials to be joined. As a result, the simple joining is executed.
