CONSTITUTION:An electric throttle valve 12 is controlled with an open degree characteristic different from a mechanical throttle valve 11 in response to accelerator operation quantity, and an EGR valve 16 is controlled in response to the operation condition, but when open degree of the mechanical throttle valve 11 is more than a criterion open degree and open degree of the electric throttle valve is less than a criterion open degree, the EGR valve 16 is closed to prohibit reflux of the exhaust gas. When EGR is performed under the condition that open degree of the mechanical throttle valve 11 is relatively large and open degree of the electric throttle valve 12 is small, the reverse flow component to the upstream side of an intake passage arrives the electric throttle valve 12, passing through the mechanical throttle valve 11, but EGR is prohibited to prevent adherence of the EGR gas to the electric throttle valve 12, and sticking of the EGR gas is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To improve controllability of a vehicle, when it is in reverse running, by providing a control amount correcting means which corrects a control amount of engine output control by an output control means in a direction of decreasing the control amount when a shift position of a transmission mechanism is placed in a reverse position. CONSTITUTION:In a control unit U during operation of an engine, signals from a sensor and switches 30 to 34 are input in addition to inputting an intake air amount signal from an air flow meter 11, to first discriminate whether a present operational condition is placed in an idle region or not, and next, when the discrimination is YES, to discriminate whether an air conditioner compressor 20 is placed in an action condition or not. Here, when the discrimination is YES, whether a shift position of an automatic transmission 35 is placed in a reverse position or not is discriminated, and when the position is discriminated NO, a target engine speed No of idle operation is set to a large value as compared with that when the compressor 20 is inoperative. On the other hand, when the shift position is decided YES(reverse), the idle speed No is set to a small value similar to when the compressor is inoperative.

The oil pressure P and oil temperature Th of operation oil in a valve timing variation mechanism are respectively calculated, and the responsing times of a valve timing switching mechanism is response to the calculated values P, Th are calculated, and the optimum ignition timing and fuel injection quantity are finally calculated after the lapse of responsing time.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain high output throughout the whole range of engine revolutions with a compact structure by connecting a second resonance chamber via an opening and closing valve, to a valley part between an intake passage and a resonance passage which is connected to a resonance chamber while being branched from the intake passage. CONSTITUTION:A resonance passage 30 is arranged above a connection part between a branch intake passage 9 extended from a surge tank 7 and right and left branch passages 9a, 9b which are connected to right and left cylinders 1. The resonance passage 30 is extended to an upper oblique part which is opposed to the branch intake passage 9 and connected to a resonance chamber 31. By this constitution, a second resonance chamber 34 is arranged at a V-shaped valley part 33 which is formed between the branch intake passage 9 and the resonance passage 30. The second resonance chamber 34 is connected to the resonance passage 30 through a port 35 to which an opening and closing valve 36 is set. Consequently, two resonance chambers 31, 34 are set in a compact style, and high output is obtained throughout the whole range of engine revolutions.

CONSTITUTION:Intake air quantity adjusting means A is disposed in a by-path by-passing a throttle valve in an intake passage. During idling state, the intake air quantity adjusting means is adapted to control using a deviation between the actual engine speed detected by the engine speed detecting means B and the target engine speed set by target engine speed setting means C as a parameter for controlling idling engine speed. When the decelerating operation is detected by detecting means D, the above adjusting means A is controlled to supply designated dash pot air, and when the engine speed is lowered less than a preset value, the adjusting means A is controlled in the valve opening direction in order to gradually decrease the dash pot air. In this case, the preset value can be varied according to load detected by load detecting means E by varying means F.
