    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective cap for gas cocks, which is configured to protect a connected portion of a gas cock and to prevent the excessive flow of a gas by an excessive-flow prevention mechanism on an erroneous opening operation.
      SOLUTION: The protective cap for gas cocks is attached to the connected portion 10 of a gas cock 2 in which the excessive-flow prevention mechanism 14 for a gas is incorporated. This protective cap has a cap body 32 which is so attached as to cover the connected portion 10 of the gas cock 2. The cap body 32 has an end wall 36 which faces the connected portion 10. With the cap attached to the connected portion 10, a discharge space 46 exists between the end wall 36 of the cap body 32 and the tip end of the connected portion 10. Furthermore, discharge holes 40 for discharging outside a fuel gas discharged in the discharge space 46 are provided in the cap body 32.
