    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a watthour meter from being damaged by an excessive current due to a ground fault or short circuit fault which occurs on a conductor wire, when a breaker is turned on. SOLUTION: The watthour meter includes first and second power supply lines for supplying power to a load of a system to be measured from a commercial power supply; an open/close means for switching between connection and disconnection of the first power supply line; a current detecting section and a low-voltage section that are serially connected between a terminal which is connected to the second power supply line, when the opening/closing means is made in the open state and a load when the open/close means is made in an open state and are provided at a second power supply line side, and a control section.
