    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid locking device for a vehicle capable of operating smoothly. SOLUTION: The lid locking device 1 operates an electric motor 3 and turns a worm wheel 5 through a worm 4 to make a lock shaft 6 advance or retreat with respect to a housing 2, and is engaged or disengaged with/from a lid provided on a vehicle body. An engaging column 53 capable of being engaged with the lock shaft 6 is formed on the worm wheel 5. The lock shaft 6 has a supporting part 62 guided in the thickness direction by the housing 2 and an avoiding part 64 formed to be offset for the supporting part 62 to arrange the worm wheel 5. The avoiding part 64 has an interlocking hole 65 in which the engaging column 53 is inserted in the thickness direction. An inner peripheral face of the interlocking hole 65 protrudes inward in the radial direction at the center of a guide to make the engaging column 53 engaged with the interlocking hole 65 in the vicinity of the center of the guide passing through the center in the thickness direction of the supporting part 62.
