摘要： An airbag and an airbag device, which are capable of readily improving expansion characteristics of the airbag and reducing manufacturing cost, are provided. An airbag 11 for occupant at passenger's seat includes a first bag 21 and a second bag 22 which is provided inside of the first bag 21. An outside top face portion 36 of the first bag 21 and an inside top face portion 46 of the second bag 22 are brought into a sheet-like intimate contact with each other, and are detachably jointed at the jointing portion 51. The jointing portion 51 is comprised of a breakable seam line 52. Gas is supplied into the second bag 22 to thereby expand the first bag 22, and is supplied into the first bag 21 via a gas distributing portion 48 to thereby expand the first bag 21. In a case where an occupant exists at a predetermined position, the jointing portion 51 breaks away, and the first bag 21 then expands to its maximum. In an OOP state in which the occupant exists in the proximity of the airbag device 1, a head part of the occupant holds the outside top face portion 36 and disallows breakage of the jointing portion 51, so that expansion of the first bag 21 to the occupant side can be restrained and the occupant can be protected with an appropriate force.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact protection device capable of absorbing impact energy during an impact event and prolonging duration of an inflation of an airbag while attaining size reduction in an inflator. SOLUTION: An impact protection device 1 includes an airbag 10 which inflates over an upper surface of a vehicle 2 by high-pressure gas generated when an impact against the vehicle 2 is detected. This hollow airbag 10 comprises a body part 11 inflated along a lower side of the front window glass of the vehicle 2, and a pair of pillars 12 inflated from both curved ends thereof. The pillars 12 comprise a vent hole 13 mounted at an upper end thereof and a sawing section 16 for minimizing a cross-sectional area of the airbag to regulate gas flow toward the vent hole 13. 摘要：エアバッグ装置において、エアバッグ(16)の基布の乗員拘束面(16d)を除く一部を既展開部分から未展開部分に向かって破断強度が増加する縫製(S1〜S3)で接合したので、インフレータが発生するガスでエアバッグ(16)が展開する過程で、エアバッグ(16)の縫製(S1〜S3)が既展開部分から未展開部分に向かって破断し、エアバッグ(16)は乗員拘束面(16d)側からインフレータ側に向かって連続的に膨張するようになる。その結果、展開過程におけるエアバッグ(16)の形状を安定させるとともに、エアバッグ(16)の乗員拘束面(16d)を早期に膨張させて乗員拘束性能を確保することができる。またエアバッグ(16)の基部(16c)側にベントホール(16e)を設けたので、エアバッグ(16)が完全に展開するまでベントホール(16e)を閉塞状態に維持して該エアバッグ(16)を速やかに展開するとともに、展開完了後にベントホール(16e)を開放して内圧の過剰な増加を防止することができる。

摘要：側面衝突用のサイドエアバッグ装置において、乗員側の第1基布(17)とドア側の第2基布(18)との間に第3基布(19)を鋏むことで、乗員側の第1バッグ半体(20)およびドア側の第2バッグ半体(21)を構成し、インフレータ(22)から第2バッグ半体(21)に供給したガスを、第3基布(19)のインフレータ(22)から遠い側の端部に形成した連通孔(19a)を介して第1バッグ半体(20)に供給するので、先ず第2バッグ半体(21)を展開させて必要最小限の乗員拘束性能を確保した後に、第1エアバッグ半体(20)を展開させて乗員拘束性能を高めることができる。第2エアバッグ半体(21)が展開するときは、その車幅方向の厚さが小さいので乗員と干渉せずにスムーズな展開が可能になり、続いて第1エアバッグ半体(20)の展開が完了すると、エアバッグ(16)全体として充分な車幅方向の厚さを確保して乗員を効果的に保護することができる。

The side airbag unit includes an airbag to be deployed with respect to the sideward direction of the occupant sitting on a vehicle seat. The posture detector determines the posture of the occupant. The weight detector measures the weight of the occupant. The deployment controller controls the deployment of the airbag based on the posture checked by the posture detector and weight measured by the weight detector of the occupant.
