    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balancer device of an internal combustion engine, which determines the relative rotational position of both balancer shafts even if an oil pump is provided at the end of a driven-side balancer shaft.SOLUTION: The balancer device of an internal combustion engine includes a two-face width part provided to the small-diameter shaft 9c of the driven-side balancer shaft 9 which is visually observed from the outside of a housing 7, an inner rotor 27 which transfers rotational force through insertion of the small-diameter shaft 9c into a drive hole 27a formed with the two-face width in the inner circumference, a first notched part formed by notching one end outer circumference of the driven-side balancer shaft, a second notched part 9f provided to one leading edge of circular arc portion of the small-diameter shaft 9c, and a space part 40 formed between the second notched part 9f and the drive hole 27a. When the detecting projection 38b of a detecting jig 38 can be inserted into the space part through a large-diameter hole 39 of the housing 7 and a fitting hole 26a, both balancer shafts are determined to be in a correct rotational phase, while the detecting projection can not be inserted into the space part, the shafts are determined to be deviated in the rotational phase.

Inside the first reinforcement rib and the second reinforcement rib are provided with an oil passage 30 for supplying lubrication oil to the bearing, respectively.

The annular grooves 5a and 5b are formed to have depths at which the annular grooves 5a and 5b overlap in the axial direction. This can shut off transmission of vibration from a tooth surface of the gear toward an inner circumferential direction. Furthermore, the annular grooves 5a and 5b cause rigidity of the gear to decrease so that the gear tends to be bent, facilitate engaging of the gear with a helical tooth of a counterpart gear by increasing a contact area between the gear and the helical tooth of the counterpart gear, and can suppress gear noise.
