摘要： Problems relating to shifting and misalignment of an ink ribbon relative to the print head as a result of changing the color used for printing with a multi-color ink ribbon are eliminated with the least possible drop in printing throughput. The ink ribbon (13) can be wound in conjunction with print head (14) movement, and has a plurality of ink colors arranged in a direction perpendicular to the ribbon winding direction. A switching mechanism changes the relative position of the print head (14) to the ink ribbon (13) in the direction perpendicular to the ink ribbon winding direction. If after such change the distance l of print head movement to the next print start position accompanied by ink ribbon winding is smaller than a specific distance L needed to correct any misalignment of the ink ribbon to the print head, a controller moves the print head in a non-printing winding mode by a distance of at least L-l to wind the ribbon.

摘要： @ The typing and erasing device is applied to a printer of the daisywheel type and comprises a carrier (84, 86) for a typing ribbon (32) having a plurality of transverse tracks which can be selected for the printing operation and a carrier for an erasing ribbon which is disposed parallel to but at a different height from the typing ribbon. The typing ribbon is contained in a cartridge on which two typing ribbon carrier arms (41) are pivoted. The carriers oscillate vertically in order to render visible the typed characters and for the operations of typing or erasing the characters at the typing point (12). A cam (81) for actuating the typing ribbon, which is controlled by a control shaft (56) selectively and successively positions the various tracks of the typing ribbon, and a second actuating cam (61) positions the correction ribbon independently of the position of the typing ribbon by way of a cam-follower pin (126) and a lever (127) which actuates the correction ribbon carrier and also the correction ribbon feed mechanism. The second cam (61) has interconnected tracks (122, 123, 124) such that selection of the correction ribbon is effected only in response to one direction of movement of the control shaft. The second cam (61) also actuates a lever (63) of the typing ribbon-feed mechanism. The cam (81) is three-lobed and rotates 120° for each complete rotation of the control shaft (56) and second cam (61) fixed thereto.

摘要： Multicolour inked ribbon cartridge for an impact serial printer comprising a ribbon housing body and two arms protruding from such body to allow the interposition of a ribbon portion between printing head and printing support for the whole length of the platen when the cartridge is inserted by means of two lateral cylindrical shaped projections provided on the body into two suitable housings of the serial printer frame, allowing rotation of the body around a common axis of said cylindrical projections, parallel to the platen.
The cartridge rotation around such axis and therefore the positioning of a suitable multicolour band between printing head and printing support is assured by a cam actuated by a motor and interacting with the body of such cartridge.
The cartridge is further provided with a string tight between the ends of its arms upon the multicolour ribbon portion interposing between head and printing support.
Such string is devoted to hitch a ribbon positioning and guiding element, which therefore follows the cartridge rotation, and at the same time, being suitably coupled to the carriage of the serial printer, follows the printing head in its transversal shift in order to assure a correct positioning and tensioning of the subsequent zones of the multicolour ribbon contacted by the printing head.

Another aspect of the invention concerns the provision of a daisy wheel petal guide (22) between opposed ends (20 and 18) of two arms (12 and 14) of the cassette which in part define a ribbon path with the ribbon stretched across the gap.
The invention also includes a typewriter which is adapted to receive a cassette having the above characteristics and which includes an actuator 112 in the typewriter for engaging the arm 36 to move the ribbon guide as required.

Moreover, by placing a correction ribbon cartridge (30) beneath the ribbon cartridge (15), another cam (70) on the shuttle can effect platform (40) elevation when it is desired to dispose the correction ribbon (31) intermediate the printing element (23) and the platen (11).
