摘要： A sewing machine possessing multiple needles and a single looper for forming a double chain stitch without an upper covering thread capable of drawing out a thread chain reliably and smoothly. By an auxiliary blade 21 disposed parallel to a looper 4, the thread chain C consecutive to the looper 4 is supported, thereby preventing the thread chain from being pushed down beneath a throat plate 3 with the descending needles 1, 2. On the throat plate 3, a stitch formation tongue composed of a movable slender plate 19 is provided, and this tongue is withdrawn when making the thread chain. The sewing machine is provided with tension regulator groups for sewing and regulator for forming thread chain respectively. In the tension regulator group for forming thread chain, the tension of the right needle thread 9 is set smaller than the tension of the looper thread 11. By a rear feed dog 16, the thread chain C is drawn out through a guide groove 18 at the left rear end of a needle hole 13 toward the middle of said feed dog 16.

摘要： An overedge sewing machine adapted to perform three thread overedge stitching (Stitch Types 504 and 505) under the cooperating action of one needle (6) and an upper looper (15) and a lower looper (31). In addition to swing movement in the direction crossing the fabric feed direction, reciprocating movement in the fabric feed direction is selectively applied to the lower looper, whereby the front end of the lower looper is revolved around the needle. 摘要： The invention relates to an apparatus for detecting thread breakage in a sewing machine. The sewing machine comprises a looper (3) reciprocating laterally across a leading end of a needle, a thread-controlling cam (11) fixed on a rotary shaft (S) interlocked with the reciprocal motion of the looper and varying in the extent of projection from the thread take-up stand (10) along with rotation of the shaft, and thread guides (12) disposed on the thread take-up stand at both sides of the thread-controlling cam. Said thread guides have thread eyelets (12a) for inserting the looper thread (6). Other thread guides having thread pass eyelets (15a) for inserting the looper thread are fixed and disposed on the looper thread route between the thread-controlling cam and the looper. A thread breakage-detecting member (13) detects presence or absence of vibration of looper thread inserted in the thread pass eyelets of other thread guides between the other thread guides. A control circuit stops the sewing machine from driving on the basis of the detection of absence of thread vibration by this thread breakage-detecting member. In this constitution, breakage of looper thread while the sewing machine is being driven is securely detected, and the sewing machine is stopped immediately when the looper thread is broken, so that lowering of the sewing operation efficiency is effectively prevented.
