    • The present invention relates to an apparatus for preventing a double chain stitching from raveling. Looper thread engaging means engages with the looper thread consecutive to the looper from the cloth by moving when the looper is at the forward position and forms a looper thread loop consecutive from the cloth at the engaged portion by driving a sewing machine in said engaged state. A looper thread cutter cuts the looper thread loop at the engaged portion and a thread cutter cuts the loop-shaped needle thread consecutive to the needle via the looper from the cloth and the looper thread consecutive to the looper from the cloth between the cloth and the looper. Therefore, it is able to prevent that a double chain stitching ravels from said stitching end side. Further, defining means is provided to define the moving distance of the looper thread engaging means. The length of the looper thread loop is changed by definition of moving distance of the looper thread engaging means by the defining means. Therefore, the length of the thread end left over in the cloth by the looper thread cutter can be varied. By varying the length of thread end consecutive to the sewn end side, a good-looking sewn product is obtained.

    • The purpose of the present invention is to provide a stitch structure having little skin contact and having excellent product quality. This stitch structure (1) has a first surface (2) and a second surface (3) and comprises: a first fabric (4) having a first end section (4a); a second fabric (5) having a second end section (5a); a first stitching (11) that extends in a direction substantially parallel to the direction of extension (D) of the first end section (4a); a second stitching (12) that extends in a direction substantially parallel to the direction of extension (D) of the second end section (5a); a third stitching (13); and a tape-shaped member (14). The stitch structure (1) is characterized by: a first thread (T1) and a second thread (T2) being arranged in the first stitching (11) and the second stitching (12), respectively, so as to repeatedly return across and penetrate at least the first fabric (4) and at least the second fabric (5), in the thickness direction thereof; a decorative thread (T3) being arranged in the third stitching (13) so as to repeatedly span between at least the first thread (T1) and the second thread (T2); and the tape-shaped member (14) binding the first fabric (4) and the second fabric (5).

    • A safety device is not required for avoiding a transition to a stitch forming state from a looper threading state during a gas supply operation of a gas supply pump, and a threading can be performed more easily with one-touch operation to a looper by one-handed operation of small number of times on the operation for being simplified on mechanism. An engaging clutch (60) for respectively transmitting power from a sewing machine motor (M) to a drive shaft (5) driving a stitch forming device including the looper at the time of the stitch formation or to the gas supply source (40) at the time of the looper threading comprises a structure which is moved to one of a gas supply drive member (61) which transmits the power to the gas supply source and a stitch forming drive member (64) which is fastened to one end of the drive shaft and transmits the power to the stitch forming device so that approach/separation becomes free depending on a manual operation of a looper threading/stitch forming changeover manual operating portion and transmits the power from the sewing machine motor through a clutch hollow shaft (22) and retains a connecting state when connecting to the gas supply drive member.
