    • By forming a combination padlock from heavy duty metal throughout with an enlarged, heavy duty locking bar or shackle being employed having a tamper-proof holding cavity for the terminating, locking end of the locking bar, an effective, easily produced, high security padlock is achieved which employs a combination system for fully operating the padlock. In addition, the combination padlock of the present invention incorporates tumbler or clutch wheel constructions which cooperate with the rotating dials to virtually eliminate any possibility that an unauthorized person would be capable of gaining access to the padlock by known combination lock picking techniques by forming each tumbler or clutch wheel with a plurality of radially extending fins formed thereon, with each of the fins being arcuately spaced from the adjacent fin in a non-symmetrical pattern.

    • A combination lock comprises a housing with a shackle having a short first leg whose end is adapted to selectively make locking engagement with the housing, and a substantially straight second leg received in an elongate bore in the housing. The straight leg is movable between a locking position in which it is held in the bore and holds the first leg end in locking engagement with the housing, and a release position at which the first leg end is disengaged from the housing. A mechanism selectively holds the straight leg in its locking position or allows it to move to its release position. This mechanism comprises a plurality of fins extending radially from and movable with the straight leg between its locking and release positions, and an equal plurality of dials, each dial being selectively movable to a specific orientation which allows movement of a fin. When each dial is in its specific orientation the straight leg is free to slide to its release position and disengages the first leg end from the housing.

      To provide a push button lock which includes a mechanism and its components assembled in a cartridge for setting and storing a security code for locking and unlocking. The cartridge is detachably attached to the inside of a housing so that various designs are available on the surface of the housing. The lock is manufactured and designed in an efficient manner, and requires less maintenance, thereby facilitating mass production. The security code for the lock is easily and readily set or altered with the lock attached to a door and without using a tool. The lock has an increased protection function, thereby improving convenience and safety. Further, a streamlined design of the lock reduces the load applied to a lock pin, prevents damage by tampering and erroneously pushing the push buttons, and thereby enhancing safety in use and increasing productivity.
      [SOLVING MEANS]
      A housing 18 on which a plurality of depressible push buttons are located is provided.
      A lock pin 237 which moves axially with the push button 20 is provided and is engageable with and disengageable from the push button 20.
      A lock plate 155 is provided and formed with a plate key hole 211 and plate lock hole 211a. The lock pin 237 is insertable in the plate key hole 211, and the lock pin 237 abuts the plate lock hole 211a.
      A reset plate 154 is provided, and is parallel to the lock plate 155. A reset spring 205 is provided inside, and axial displacement of a lock pin 237 inserted via the reset spring 205 is maintainable and releasable.
      A driving cam 58 linked to a deadbolt lock 8 is provided, and the deadbolt lock 8 is rotatable and engageable with a movement area of the lock plate 155.
      The push button lock provided here controls a movement of the lock plate 155 via the lock pin 237 when the push button is pressed, and releases an engagement between the lock plate 155 and the driving cam 58.
      A security-code controller 149 which slidably stores the reset plate 145 and the lock plate 155 and are parallel to each other.
      The security-code controller 149 is detachably attached to the housing 18.
