    • A saw blade clamping arrangement (500) for a power tool (10) includes a clamp support (502), a biasing member (538) and an actuation member. The clamp support (502) is interconnected with the drive shaft (30) for reciprocating motion with the drive shaft (30) relative to a housing of the power tool. The clamp support (502) is configured to selectively receive a saw blade (38) of the power tool (10) in various orientations. A release lever (532) is carried by the housing and is manually rotated to move a control member (504) between a first position in which the saw blade (38) is coupled to the drive shaft (30) and a second position in which the saw blade (38) may be displaced from the drive shaft (30). In at least one of the orientations, the saw blade (38) is positioned offset from the drive shaft (30) and proximate one of the side walls of the tool housing to allow for flush cutting of a work piece.

    • A saw blade clamp 1 comprises a body 3 defining a channel 13 for a saw blade 11, a retaining member 17, biasing means 19 for continuously urging the retaining member 17 towards the channel 13 to abut a saw blade 11 in use in the channel 13, and a release device 30 separate from the retaining member 17 and the biasing means 19. When activated the release device 30 acts on the retaining member 17 to move the retaining member 17 away from the channel 13 to allow a saw blade 11 to be entered into or removed from the channel 13.

    • A retractable tool bit assembly utilized in connection with a robotic gripper type end-effector. The apparatus includes one or more spring loaded nestable or telescoping tubular sections (32,34) together with a catch mechanism for capturing and holding the tool, such as an allen key, in its retracted position. The innermost tubular section includes a threshold cap and engages and holds the tool (36). The catch mechanism consists of a slider type mechanism located adjacent a relatively large router base section and includes means for engaging a conically or mushroom shaped rear end portion (76) of the tool when the telescoping sections are moved to a retracted or parked position. The catch mechanism is released upon actuation of a rotary tool drive motor coupled to a circular mount and which holds the base section. When released all the telescoping sections including the tool extends fully outward to a use position.
