摘要： A fuel tank construction comprising a tank (100) and a sump (106) includes a float (124) operated water separator (134). The separator operates automatically to drain water which has separated out and accumulated at the bottom of the sump. The separator is in the sump which is secured to the underside (96) of the tank. The tank has an opening (102) through which the sump and tank communicate, and there is a normally open one-way valve (170) in this opening. This valve prevents water and solids flowing back into the tank from the sump if the tank construction is inverted. Within the tank there is a filter (168) through which fuel flows to reach the fuel outlet line. The filter (168) is normally spaced along the tank from said opening (102) but can be displaced to a position overlying the opening when access to it through said opening is required for servicing purposes.

摘要： A fluid shut off valve (64, 80) for use in a parenteral fluid administration set includes a disk (80) floating in a fluid chamber (54) that shuts off fluid flow when the fluid in the chamber decreases below a certain level. The chamber includes a valve stem (64) at its lower end that has both a valve seat (76) and an alignment member (68) with an alignment surface on the top end thereof for guiding the disk into proper seating on the valve seat. The valve seat and floating disk have complementary engagement surfaces for also guiding the disk (80) into proper seating on the valve seat (76). In one embodiment, the alignment member includes fins (71) located both on the valve stem and on the inside wall of the chamber. Because of the configuration of the alignment member, dislodgement of the disk 80 from the valve seat 76 is made easier.

摘要： A magnetic automatic stop valve formed in a container of a medical fluid administration system has one magnetic element located in a float and another magnetic element located proximate a valve seat. As the fluid level in the container decreases, the magnetic field established between the float and the valve seat eventually overcomes the buoyancy of the float in the fluid and attracts the float into the valve seat at which position the flow of fluid from the container is stopped. The float is formed of two identical halves each of which has one half of an internal post. When joined together to make the float, the internal post is fully formed and extends from one end of the float to the other. One magnetic element is slid over the post during manufacture and is free to slide from one end of the float to the other. Due to the symmetrical nature of the float and the freedom of movement of the internal magnetic element on the post, the float may be inserted into the fluid container without regard to which direction it faces thus lowering manufacturing costs. Flow seals are provided to completely shutoff flow when the float is seated.
