    • An image pickup apparatus includes a VCM (23) configured to move relative positions of an image sensor (22) and a light beam to set a movement amount of a frame period to a non-integer multiple of a pixel pitch, a microcomputer (45) configured to cause the image sensor (22) to perform exposures a plurality of times during the movement of the relative positions and acquire a plurality of image data, and a combination processing section (31) configured to generate combined image data having higher resolution from the acquired plurality of image data. The VCM (23) sets the movement of the relative positions during the exposures in a same moving direction and a same movement amount in each of the exposures of the plurality of times.

    • Apparatus for increasing resolution of cryogenically cooled vacuum-sealed infrared imaging detector. A two-dimensional detector array of photosensitive pixels is successively exposed to an image scene, acquiring multiple imaging samples. A masking filter, disposed between the detector array and image scene focal plane, is maintained at a fixed position with respect to the detector array, and reduces the region of pixels collecting incident radiation for each imaging sample such that only a portion of each pixel area of the image scene is imaged onto the corresponding detector array pixel. Shifting means successively shifts the optical path of the image scene relative to the masking filter, by a shifting increment or fill-factor reduction amount equal to a fraction of the array pixel width, to image different sub-pixel regions in each imaging sample. A processor reconstructs an image frame having a resolution greater than the intrinsic detector resolution by the fill-factor reduction amount.

    • An image processing device, an imaging device, a program, an image processing method, and the like that can acquire a high-resolution image from a low-resolution movie using a simple process, are disclosed. The image processing device includes a storage section, an estimation calculation section, and an image output section. A pixel is sequentially shifted so that overlap occurs to acquire a light-receiving value (a 00 to a 11 ) of the pixel as a low-resolution frame image. The storage section stores the low-resolution frame image. The estimation calculation section estimates estimated pixel values at a pixel pitch (p/2) smaller than the pixel pitch (p) of the low-resolution frame image. The image output section outputs a high-resolution frame image that has a resolution higher than that of the low-resolution frame image based on the estimated pixel values. The estimation calculation section calculates the difference (a 10 -a 00 ) between the light-receiving value (a 00 ) of the pixel set at a first position and the light-receiving value (a 10 ) of the pixel set at a second position, and estimates the estimated pixel values based on the difference (a 10 -a 00 ).
