The device comprises a second data set unit (104), a first data set unit (102), a first conditional entropy unit (106), a threshold unit (108), and a length determining unit (114). The first data set unit, the second data set unit and the threshold unit obtain input data. The first conditional entropy unit determines a first conditional entropy for a second data set given a first data set. The determining unit searches for a length of the relevant history by determining a smallest length for sequences of a reduced first set of data for which a second conditional entropy for the second set of data, given the reduced first set of data, is within a maximum entropy increase threshold from the first conditional entropy.

摘要： The invention relates to a device that is set up for device-internal handling of data in a text format, that has a communication interface set up to interchange binary data, particularly EXI data, and that provides a coder for reciprocally converting the binary data into text format data, wherein the coder is set up to associate resource descriptions with a respective identification number. This association is managed via a resource table, which is managed by the coder and in which a respective resource description in text form has an associated respective identification number. In addition, the device has, in a manner that is standard in the art, at least one device-internal database for storing resources and the relationships between said resources. According to the invention, a database access control unit is provided that has access both to the database and to the resource table. Centralisation of the resource table advantageously avoids redundant storage of resource descriptions. A further measure according to the invention provides for the database access control unit to be designed such that a resource to be stored is referenced on the basis of the associated identification number rather than the resource description. In comparison with the measures known in the prior art, the invention leads to faster reaction times for production of the EXI data stream.

摘要： Methods and devices for creating, compressing and searching a binary tree are provided by the present invention, which relates to the field of traffic classification. Binary tree compression includes: determining a number of a compression layer or a number of an intermediate node, compressing a binary tree according to the number of the compression layer or the number of the intermediate node to form at least one compression node, and creating a bitmap of the compression node. Binary tree creation includes: segmenting non-range rules in a rule set by using a bit selection segmentation algorithm, converting range rules in the rule set into prefixes for segmentation when segmentation efficiency is lower than a preset threshold, and creating a binary tree; or segmenting a rule set by using a bit selection segmentation algorithm, extracting rules that need to be replicated in a segmentation process and putting the rules in another sub-rule set, and creating binary trees corresponding to the rule set and the another sub-rule set respectively. Binary tree search includes: judging whether each node of a binary tree is a leaf node or a compression node, and performing processing separately. Therefore, the depth of the decision tree is reduced, the search speed is increased, rule expansion is avoided, and rule replication is reduced.
