The beamforming network may include six beamforming network outputs, where each beamforming network output is coupled to one of a set of waveguide inputs. Further, the beamforming network may include a cascaded set of dividers configured to split electromagnetic energy from a beamforming network input to the six phase-adjustment sections. The cascade may include a first level of the cascade configured to split the electromagnetic energy from the beamforming network input into two first-level beamforming waveguides, a second level configured to split the electromagnetic energy from each of two first-level beamforming waveguides into two respective second-level beamforming waveguides, and a third level of the cascade configured to split the electromagnetic energy from one of two respective second-level beamforming waveguides into two respective third-level beamforming waveguides.

    • The present invention provides an array antenna, including a cavity power divider and a final-stage power dividing, coupling, and radiating unit. The cavity power divider receives an input signal and performs power division to output a first power-divided signal. The final-stage power dividing, coupling, and radiating unit includes a dielectric substrate, a first metal surface layer, and a second metal surface layer; a coupling slot array is formed on the second metal surface layer to receive the first power-divided signal; a radiating slot array corresponding to the coupling slot array is formed on the first metal surface layer; and several plated through-hole units are provided on the dielectric substrate, where the plated through-hole units go through the first and second metal surface layers vertically, and a range corresponding to each plated through-hole unit encloses a coupling slot and a radiating slot corresponding to the coupling slot, so that final-stage power division is performed on the first power-divided signal to output a second power-divided signal to the radiating slot array and that the radiating slot array radiates the second power-divided signal. The present invention achieves an objective of increasing bandwidth.

    • The design and use of a simplified, highly efficient, waveguide-based wireless distribution system integrated with a carrier tray are provided. A low-loss waveguide (131,133) is used to transport wireless signals from a signal source or sources to one or more receiver locations. One or more adjustable signal coupling devices (52) partially insert into the waveguide at predetermined locations along the length of the system to provide variable, controlled extraction of one or more wireless signals. Low-loss impedance matching circuitry is provided between the waveguide coupling devices and output connectors to maintain high system efficiency. The system offers the capability of supplying signals of high strength and high quality to a large number of receivers in a wide wireless coverage area via a plurality of signal radiators. Some embodiments of the system are readily adaptable for wireless distribution service in HVAC plenum spaces. A system that combines the functions of fire extinguishing and waveguide wireless distribution is also disclosed.
