摘要： The present invention discloses active unit cell topologies for quasi-optic grid array structures that make use of combinations of one of several broadband or frequency-selective positive (or regenerative) feedback networks, as well as multiple transistor configurations in order to enhance the gain of the grid array amplifier. These new topologies yield higher gain, extending the utility of the grid array amplifier to both new applications requiring higher gain, as well as to higher frequencies where the intrinsic gain of the active devices is lower. They also offer greater flexibility in impedance matching, improving the bandwidth and manufacturability of the design.

摘要： The present invention relates to antenna feeds (10, 30, 70, 78, 94) for use in linear or circularly polarised systems. In one embodiment of the invention, a cross-type antenna feed (30) comprises a cylindrical metal waveguide housing (12) and a cross-type metal feed body (32) coupled to the front of the waveguide housing (12). The feed body (32) has four peripherally spaced corrugated arm portions (34) arranged in a mutually orthogonal relationship, where the arm portions (34) extend radially outwardly from a longitudinal axis (16) of the feed body (32). Ridges (36) on each arm portion (34) are arranged concentrically around the axis (16) and parallel thereto, with successive ridges spaced from the axis (16) in a tiered arrangement. In another embodiment the antenna feed is a dielectric lens. The antenna feed is used in an antenna system having a reflector antenna in addition or in a low noise block (LNB) receiver.

摘要： When a converter is rotated via a rotation mechanism, the arrangement inclination angle of two primary radiators can be adjusted in the range of 0 to 20 deg with respect to an axis which is in parallel with the ground. Also the reception polarization angle due to probes of the primary radiators can be adjusted in the range of 0 to 20 deg while maintaining a preset difference in polarization angle among the satellites. Therefore, the arrangement inclination angle of the primary radiators for respectively receiving signals from the two satellites, and the reception polarization angle in the primary radiators can be simultaneously easily adjusted by rotating the converter via the rotation mechanism.

The disks for the converter circuits are further sized such that the circuit disks fit within an envelope volume defined by the size and shape of the antenna.
