    • The carriage assembly (22) of this invention includes an oval coil (34) whose shape is maintained by a rectangular bobbin (361 which is passed through the open sides of the rectangular carriage frame (24,26,28,30) and fastened inside the carriage frame so that the ends of the coil protrude from the carriage Frame and define symmetrical semi-cylindrical openings on either side of the carriage for cooperation with the magnetic pole pieces (50,52) of the voice coil motor.
