摘要： In one embodiment, an extent key reconstruction technique is provided for use with a set of hash tables embodying metadata. The metadata includes an extent key associated with a storage location on storage devices for write data of one or more write requests organized into an extent. Each hash table has a plurality of entries, and each entry includes a plurality of slots. A first field of the extent key is recreated implicitly from an entry in a first address space portion of a hash table. A second field of the extent key is stored in the slot. A third field of the extent key is stored in the slot. A fourth field of the extent key is recreated implicitly from the hash table of the set of hash tables.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention provide a tile processing method and a storage device. The method includes: receiving T tiles that are to be stored in a RAID; determining a sequence number of a check block in a stripe of the RAID; obtaining a data block, to be written into a storage apparatus, of the K th file in the T files as the K th data block in the stripe, where a value of K progressively increases from 1 to T, and the value of K is not equal to the sequence number of the check block in the stripe; obtaining the check block in the stripe according to data blocks in the stripe; and writing, into the T storage apparatuses, the data blocks in the stripe and the obtained check block in the stripe. By using the foregoing method, one file can be written into one storage apparatus of the RAID while ensuring security of file storage, thereby achieving a significant effect of energy saving when the file is read.

摘要： Information processing equipment is so constructed that the power consumption of a disk drive for hard disks, optical disks, or the like can be reliably and sufficiently reduced. The host CPU (120) of an information processing unit (100) forms a command for changing the power consumption mode of a HDD (200) based on the state of control on the HDD (200). The host CPU supplies the command to the HDD (200) through a media controller (106). When the HDD (200) accepts the command, it changes its power consumption mode according to the instruction from the information processing unit. Thus, the information processing unit can control the power consumption mode of the HDD (200) based on the state of control on the HDD (200).

The method includes: when a migration unit of a lower-tier disk is migrated to a higher-tier disk, splitting the migration unit into multiple migration subunits, and detecting a data access frequency of each migration subunit respectively; migrating the migration subunit to the lower-tier disk when detecting that the data access frequency of the migration subunit is lower than a set threshold; and combining the multiple migration subunits into the migration unit when detecting that the multiple migration subunits are all migrated to the lower-tier disk. The present invention improves usage of storage media, and controls metadata storage resource consumption effectively.

摘要： An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for deploying sensitive communication parameters to a diskless computing device. A parameter structure module is included to store one or more Internet Small Computer System Interface ('iSCSI') communication parameters in an extendable data 10 structure configured to store a set of basic parameter settings and a set of extended parameter settings. A link module is included to establish a secure link to a diskless computing device over a physically secure connection.
