    • A data tranmission system for sending parallel data from the transmitting side to the receiving side. When a predetermined period of time t, has passed after the transmission of an i-th data item DTi, the transmitting side sends a high level data transmission signal DS to the receiving side. Upon receipt of the high level data transmission signal DS, the receiving side reads the i-th data item DTi and sends a high level data reception signal DR back to the transmitting side. The transmitting side receives the high level data reception signal DR, and the i-th data transmission cycle is completed. To transmit the next (i+l)th data (DTi + I), the transmitting side sends a low level data transmission signal DS when a predetermined period of time t 1 has passed after the transmission of the (i+I)th data item. Upon receipt of the low level data transmission signal DS, the receiving side reads the (i+l)th data(DTi + 1) and sends the low level data reception signal DR back to the transmitting side. The low level data reception signal DR is received by the transmitting side, and the (i+I)th cycle of data transmission is completed. The data is thus transmitted successively by repeating the i-th and (i+I)th data transmission cycles.

    • An interactive data processing unit is set in a place distant from a FA control unit so that the interactive data processing unit can directly access a memory in the FA control unit. When a request for access to a memory (3) in CNC (30) is issued in MMC (20), it is outputted to CNC (30) by a remote access control means (1). When an internal data input/output means (2) in CNC (30) receives the access request, direct memory access (DMA) is made for the memory (3). Depending on the request, data are written in the memory, or the designated data are outputted to MMC (20). The remote access control means (1) in MMC (20) receives the inputted data and transfers the data to the device that is the origin of the request. Thus, the accessing of the memory (3) in CNC (30) can be done directly from MMC (20).

    • A method of radio transmission of output pulse signals from a manual pulse generator unit to a numerical controller. A counter starts at a reference time and counts pulses generated depending on the revolution of a manual pulse generator (14). The numerical value of the counter is taken out as a coded signal, modulated by a modulator circuit (16), amplified by a power amplifier circuit (17), and transmitted by radio to the numerical controller from an antenna (18) at predetermined intervals. The numerical controller receives the coded signal and recognizes the pulses from the manual pulse generator. Each coded signal sent from the manual pulse generator by radio indicates the absolute position at a given time. Even if an error is involved in transmission, the correct number of pulses can be eventually recognized.
