    • In a case where conveyance abnormality of a sheet has occurred on a conveyance passage in course of execution of a print job which uses sheets included in a sheet set including a plurality of sheets with sequentiality stored in a first sheet feed tray (161) and discharges a sheet having been subjected to image formation to a first discharge section of the plurality of discharge sections (290, 390, 491, 492) conveyance of a causal sheet having caused the conveyance abnormality is stopped, and sheets having been being conveyed on the conveyance passage on an upstream side than the causal sheet are discharged to other discharge section other than the first discharge section. Thereafter, continuously, sheets located before a sheet to be fed first at a time of performing recovery printing after elimination of conveyance abnormality, are fed from the first sheet feed tray, and discharged the sheets to the other discharge section.

    • In an image forming apparatus 1, a sensor section 5 which the printed sheets fed from an image forming section 3 pass through or by in a first direction one by one, irradiates each of the passing printed sheets with light elongated in a second direction, thereby sensing densities of the each of passing printed sheets, on a pixel basis. Further, a control section 7 integrates densities of respectively corresponding line portions in respective non-image areas of sheets of the printed sheets, based on the densities obtained by the sensor section 5, each of the line portion extending substantially in the first direction and including pixels on substantially a same position in the second direction, thereby obtaining integrated density values, and predicts, based on the obtained integrated density values, that a noise will occur on a printed sheet to be made by the image forming section 1 later on.

    • To add an arbitrary recording medium (Z) as a recording medium that can be used for calibration to maintain the quality of an image to be formed, an image forming unit (120; 130; 140; 150) forms a pattern image on each of a specific recording medium (X) that can be used for the calibration and the arbitrary recording medium (2). A creating unit (301, S1005) creates second conversion setting information (LUTid (Z)) applied to the arbitrary recording medium (Z) to convert luminance information into density information, using first luminance information (I(X)) obtained from the pattern image formed on the specific recording medium (X), second luminance information (I(Z)) obtained from the pattern image formed on the arbitrary recording medium (Z), and first conversion setting information (LUTid (X)) applied to the specific recording medium (X) for converting luminance information into density information. A determining unit (301, S1203) determines a common image formation condition applied to the specific recording medium (X) and the arbitrary recording medium (Z) based on the second conversion setting information (LUTid (Z)).
