摘要： A power supply (10) apparatus generates an output voltage. Boost means (700) boosts a voltage supplied from a reference voltage source and generates a first power supply voltage. Processing means (300) controls switching the boost means on and off. A first transistor (Tr1) is connected to the first power supply voltage. A second transistor (Tr2) is connected to a collector of the first transistor. A resistance element (R0) is connected to a collector of the second transistor. A voltage source (VPR) is connected to the resistance element and generates a second power supply voltage. A collector voltage, which is an output voltage, of the second transistor is controlled by controlling an amount of base current of the first transistor.

The image formation device (1) including a photoreceptor (7) configured to carry a toner image and a replaceable development unit (10) configured to form the toner image on a surface of the photoreceptor (7), includes: a development bias application section (18) configured to apply a development bias to between the photoreceptor (7) and the developer (10); a stabilization control section configured to perform image stabilization control of determining a development bias value to be used in future by changing the development bias while measuring a density of the toner image formed by the developer (10), thereby obtaining the toner image with a target density; and a life determination section configured to determine expiration of use of the development unit (10) when the development bias value determined by the stabilization control falls outside a preset acceptable range.
