    • Image pickup apparatus (1), that causes no change in the image angle between the moving- and the static-image mode, comprises a zoom-lens (2) and an image pickup element (12). The size of the image is controlled when switching from one mode to the other as an auxiliary lens-group (G5) is inserted or extracted in the optical path at a location the closest to the image side.
      The image-pickup element (12) is retained with fixed lens groups within a same fixed lens barrel.
