    • A low-flow inertial filtration dilution probe for sampling stack gas for analysis. The probe is based on a body having a central chamber (44) passing from a first end of the body to a second end. One end of the central chamber is connected to a non-filtering sampling tube (41) to be inserted into a stack (38) containing stack gas and the opposite end of the body has a port (50) which is adapted to be selectively connected to a source of calibration gas or blowback gas. Means for filtering (46) divide the central chamber into an inlet portion and an outlet portion, with the sampling tube (41) and port (50) connected directly to the inlet portion. An external plug (48) in the second end of body is removable to expose said means for filtering (46) and is adapted for removal and servicing of the means for filtering. The probe further comprises a dilution eductor (60) joined to the body, for mixing filtered stack gas with dilution gas and comprising an inlet (68) for dilution gas, an outlet (70) for removing diluted stack gas for analysis and a vacuum cavity (62) therebetween. A sample passage within the body connects the outlet portion of the chamber to the vacuum cavity and a means for heating (72) enclose the body and eductor, wherein a dilution eductor is located only downstream of said means for filtering. The probe allows more accurate calibration of the gas analysis, since the calibration gas follows in the same path as the stack gas.

    • An apparatus for collecting ash from flue gases, the apparatus (10) comprising at least a probe (12) suitable for collecting flue gas containing ash and other particles; a filter (18, 58) configured to filter the flue gas flowing through the filter and to separate ash and other particles from the flue gas; a first channel (22) configured to convey flue gas from the probe (12) to the filter (18, 58); a suction device (20) configured to suck flue gas through said filter (18, 58); a second channel (24) configured to convey flue gas from the filter to the suction device. The apparatus comprises a connection (34) for blowing compressed gas to the apparatus, wherein said connection is placed in such a way that the blown gas can be conveyed through the filter (58). The apparatus further comprises a dissolving vessel (42), to which ash and other particles removed from the filter (18, 58) by means of said gas blow can be conveyed for sampling. A method for collecting ash from flue gases utilizes the above described apparatus.
