    • Proposed is a magnetically passive position sensor (1) comprising a movable magnet, a plurality of contact spring elements (4) arranged in a motion region of the magnet and a resistance device (2). The contact spring elements (4) are spaced opposite the resistance device (2) and can be moved by the magnet to the resistance device (2). The resistance device (2) comprises a plurality of electrical contact surfaces (3) arranged opposite the contact spring elements (4) and arranged separately from each other. Each contact surface (3) is, for example, designed in a U-shape, comprising two limbs (11, 13) made of electrically conductive material, a gap (15) arranged between the limbs (11, 13) without electrically conductive material and a base region (17) made of electrically conductive material, said base region joining the limbs (11, 13). Owing to the U-shaped design of the contact surfaces (3), a potentially expensive electrically conductive material can be saved. In addition, dirt particles can preferably accumulate in the gap (15), where same scarcely affect the function of the position sensor.

    • A fuel injector (10) comprises fixed metal components, notably an injector body (12), a solenoid actuator (14) equipped with a retaining spring (16) that holds a control valve stem (18), a control valve body (20) comprising a valve seat for the control valve stem (22), a spacer piece (24) between the control valve body (20) and an injection nozzle (36), a control chamber (28) and an injection needle seat (34). The fuel injector (10) also comprises mobile metal components notably the control valve stem (18) and the armature (36) thereof and the injection needle (38). The solenoid actuator (14) also comprises control wires (15) communicating with the outside of the injector (10). Those surfaces of the metal components that are in contact with one another are contact surfaces (S). Resistive surface coatings (40) are arranged on several contact surfaces (S). The overall electrical resistivity (R7) of the injector (10) between the body of the solenoid actuator (14) and the body of the injector (12), varies by three distinct ohm values (R7A, R7B, R7C) intermittently according to the dynamics of the injection needle (38) of the injector (10), and the resistive surface coatings (40) are located: on at least one contact surface (S) for contact between the seat (34) of the injection needle (38) and the injection needle (38), on at least one contact surface (S) for contact between the body of the injection nozzle (26) and the injection needle (38), on at least one contact surface (S) for contact between the injection needle (38) and the spacer piece (24), on at least one contact surface (S) for contact between the body of the injection nozzle (26) and the spacer piece (24), on at least one contact surface (S) for contact between the body of the injector (12) and the body of the control valve (20), on at least one contact surface (S) for contact between the body of the injector (12) and the body of the solenoid actuator (14).
