摘要： A hydrogen fuel automobile has a heat medium passage through which a heat medium which can exchange heat with a drive portion and can be supplied to a heat medium pipe for a hydrogen tank flows. An air cooling apparatus has a compressor for compressing a refrigerant gas, a condenser, an evaporator and a refrigerant circuit. The hydrogen fuel automobile is provided with a bypass passage which branches from the refrigerant circuit so that expanded refrigerant liquid detours the evaporator so as to be drawn into the compressor. A switch portion can switch between a state where the refrigerant liquid passes through the evaporator so as to be drawn into the compressor and a state where the refrigerant liquid detours the evaporator so as to flow through the bypass passage. The hydrogen storage material cooling portion cools the hydrogen storage material in the hydrogen tank using the refrigerant liquid that flows through the bypass passage. Accordingly, the time for filling the tank with hydrogen can be made short in comparison with a case where the radiator and the fan mounted in the automobile are used to cool the hydrogen tank when the tank is being filled with hydrogen.

摘要： This invention has its aim in providing a hydrogen heat exchanger for a hydrogen filling system which is of a small size and has high heat transfer performance. The hydrogen filling system, in which a hydrogen tank (8) in a hydrogen fuel-cell automobile (7) is filled with pressurized hydrogen from a hydraulic accumulator (5), has a precooling apparatus (11) equipped with a heat exchanger (12) for cooling hydrogen to be filled. In the heat exchanger (12), the supply pressure in the hydrogen supplying channel (13) is substantially as high as the pressure in the coolant supplying channel (14). This allows the pipe wall of the intermediate pipe between both supplying channels to be thinner than in prior arts. Owing to this, heat transfer resistance and hydrogen pressure loss decrease, improving heat transfer performance and allowing the apparatus to be constituted in a small scale.

摘要： A hydrogen fuel automobile having a heating medium flow path capable of exchanging heat with a drive section and feeding a heating medium to a heating medium pipe of a hydrogen tank. A cooler has a compressor for compressing refrigerant gas, a condenser, an evaporator, and a refrigerant circulation circuit. The hydrogen fuel automobile has a bypass flow path branched from the refrigerant circulation circuit, and the bypass flow path allows expanded refrigerant liquid to bypass the evaporator and be sucked into the compressor. A switching section can be switched between a state where the refrigerant liquid is sucked into the compressor through the evaporator and a state where the refrigerant liquid flows through the bypass flow path while detouring the evaporator. A hydrogen occlusion material cooling section cools a hydrogen occlusion material in the hydrogen tank by using the refrigerant liquid flowing through the bypass flow path. Consequently, hydrogen filling time can be reduced as compared with a case where the hydrogen tank is cooled by using a vehicle mounted radiator and fan.

摘要： An apparatus for storing gases such as hydrogen gas at cryogenic temperatures. The hydrogen gas is stored in a storage vessel 1 at cryogenic temperatures and those cryogenic temperatures are sustained by a heat exchanger (comprising a reservoir 10, a fluid connection means 12, a coil supply tube 14 and coils 16) which provides nearly uniform distribution of a volatile liquid throughout the hydrogen gas being stored. The storage vessel contains an adsorbent of the physiosorption kind. The self regulating flow of oxygen through the heat exchanger maintains the adsorbent at a suitable cryogenic storage temperature even when the apparatus is not being used to supply hydrogen.

摘要： A hydrogen storage unit which uses hydrogen storage alloys (10) to store hydrogen, and more particularly a heat transfer management/compartmentalization system for use in such a system. The hydrogen storage alloy may be divided into compartments, separated by disks (13), further divided into subcompartments by a flapper wheel. The disks (13) and flapper wheel provide for optimal heat transfer throughout the system. The compartmentalization of the vessel may prevent compaction of the hydrogen storage alloys, which could lead to excessive strain on the vessel causing damage, deformation, or rupture of the vessel.
