The heat exchanger could include multiple sections, and each section could include one of multiple substrates and one of multiple layers of nanoparticles. The heat exchanger can further include pores through the multiple sections of the heat exchanger, where the pores are configured to allow the fluid to flow through the heat exchanger and to contact the substrates and the layers of nanoparticles. The nanoparticles could include at least one lanthanide element or alloy, and the substrate could include carbon nanotubes or graphene.

The method also includes draining excess shell-side fluid using a plurality of drains, at least two of the plurality of drains being disposed on opposite sides of one of the plurality of baffles.

摘要： A coil wound heat exchanger has a shell enclosing a shell space. A tubing assembly is configured inside the shell space, and a refrigerant distributor is arranged inside the shell space gravitationally above the tubing assembly, for allowing a downward stream of liquid refrigerant inside the shell space. A liquid drain line is connected to the shell at a gravitational low level, for draining non-evaporated liquid refrigerant from the shell space. A vapour chamber is arranged inside the shell space, with a vapour chamber inlet. A vapour discharge line is in fluid communication with the shell space of the coil wound heat exchanger for discharging evaporated refrigerant from the shell space. The vapour discharge line and the vapour chamber inlet are separated from each other by gas/liquid separator internals. The gas/liquid separator internals prevent any liquid constituents from entering the vapour discharge line from the shell space.

摘要： Beim Kühlung oder Heizen von Medien mittels Wärmetauschern wird der Mengenstrom des zur Wärmeübertragung eingesetzten Wärmeträgerfluids insbesondere durch den Mengenstrom des zu temperierenden Mediums und die gewünschte Temperaturdifferenz des Mediums vor- und nach der Temperierung bestimmt. Unter Umständen sind große Mengen an Wärmeträgerfluid erforderlich, um die gewünschte Kühlleistung zu erbringen. Dies ist jedoch mit einem hohen apparativen Aufwand, insbesondere für den Transport des Wärmeträgerfluids verbunden.
Um den Mengenstrom des Wärmeträgerfluids und damit den apparativen Aufwand zu reduzieren wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, den Wärmeaustausch zwischen dem zu temperierenden Medium und dem Wärmeträgerfluid zunächst nur in einem ersten funktionalen Teil des Wärmetauschers stattfinden zu lassen. Anschließend wird das Wärmeträgerfluid einer Einrichtung zum Temperieren zugeführt, in der dem Wärmeträgerfluid die beim thermischen Kontakt mit dem Medium abgegebene bzw. zugeführte Wärme wieder zugeführt bzw. entnommen wird. Anschließend wird das Wärmeträgerfluid zum weiteren Wärmeaustausch mit dem Medium wenigstens einem zweiten funktionalen Teil des Wärmetauschers zugeführt.
Der zur Temperierung erforderliche Mengenstrom des Wärmeträgerfluids kann erheblich reduziert werden.
