    • An electric machine has a housing which has an interior space and an interior wall extending about the interior space, and a stator assembly disposed within the interior space and attached to the interior wall. The electric machine includes a rotor within the interior space and located radially inward from the stator. The rotor and stator define a gap there between and cooperate to produce flux. The rotor comprises a hollow cylindrical member having an interior region, an interior wall extending about the interior region and an exterior surface. The rotor includes magnets attached to the exterior surface and a rotor shaft support structure disposed within the interior region of the hollow cylindrical member and attached to the interior wall of the hollow cylindrical member. A rotor shaft is attached to the rotor shaft support structure. The electric machine further comprises bearings to locate and support the rotor shaft relative to the housing.

    • An exhaust gas cooling system wherein part of exhaust gas-processing water mixed with the condensed water generated through the condensation of water of exhaust gas is introduced as a make-up water into a cooling tower so as to minimize the load for processing waste water, to decrease the quantity of water to be fed to the cooling tower, and to minimize the frequency of blow-down from the cooling tower. This exhaust gas cooling system comprising, an exhaust gas-processing tower (3) provided at a lower portion with an inlet port (1) for an exhaust gas containing moisture and also provided at an upper interior space with a spray member (4), a circulating passageway (5) for circulating exhaust gas-processing water from bottom of the exhaust gas-processing tower (3) to the spray member (4), a heat exchanger (7) provided at a midway of the circulating passageway (5) for cooling the exhaust gas-processing water, a cooling tower (9) for generating cooling water by taking advantage of the evaporation heat of water, thereby allowing the cooling water to circulate through the heat exchanger (7), and a water supply passageway (13) for supplying the exhaust gas-processing water passing through circulating passageway (5) to the cooling tower (9) as part of make-up water.
