摘要： An insulating composition comprises: about 70-100 parts by volume of a polymeric material, about 5-30 parts by volume of a ceramic filler (2) which is surface-treated by a bifunctional coupling agent in an amount of about 0.1wt% to about 4wt% of the ceramic filler; about 0.1-5 parts by volume of a crosslinking agent; about 0-6 parts by volume of conductive powder (3); and about 0-6 parts by volume of ZnO whisker (4). A preparation method for making the insulating composition, an insulating article such as an electrical cable accessory, and a use thereof are provided.

摘要： A moldable heat insulating composition, a shaped heat insulator using the composition, and a method for manufacturing the heat insulator are disclosed. The composition can provide a heat insulator with heat resistance and heat insulating ability against a thermal equipment elevating to high temperatures thanks to high heat insulating ability of silica aerogel, and attachable to complicated shaped equipments. The composition comprises (A) silica aerogel having a porosity of 60 % or more, (B) starting material liquid for forming a ceramic crystal via hydrothermal reaction (starting material liquid for hydrothermal synthesis), (C) surfactant, and (D) reinforcing fiber.

摘要： A substrate is protected from excessive heat by covering it with a protective article comprising a glass fiber element which has been coated with a silicone rubber composition containing about 0.01 to about 10% by weight, based on the weight of the rubber, of a boron compound. The article protects the underlying substrate for a period of time if exposed to temperatures of up to about 2000°F and indefinitely if exposed to temperatures of up to about 500°F. The temperature differential between the inner and outer surfaces of the protective article can be as high as 800°F thereby protecting the underlying substrate from damage caused by excessive heat.
