摘要： An assembly including a connecting rod, a bushing, and a locking pin capable of providing different compression ratios in an engine is provided. The bushing is disposed in a bore of the connecting rod. An outer surface of the bushing includes a pair of notches, and an inner surface of the connecting rod includes a corresponding notch for receiving the locking pin. The notches are spaced from one another by greater than 180° and by no more than 190°. The locking pin is movable in the notch, allowing the bushing to rotate from a low compression position to a high compression position, or vice versa. The bushing has a varying thickness, and thus a center axis of an opening of the bushing is closer to the shaft of the connecting rod body when the bushing is in the low compression orientation than in the high compression orientation.

摘要： A rocking journal bearing is provided in a piston coupling mechanism. The bearing includes a sleeve and a wristpin constructed with two sets of eccentrically-disposed bearing surfaces which alternate in accepting a compressive load during an operational cycle of the bearing. The sleeve includes a network of grooves to transport oil to the bearing surfaces. Lubricating oil flow through the bearing is minimized by limiting provision of pressurized oil from the wristpin to the network of grooves to portions of the cycle when one or the other of the sets of bearing surfaces receives the compressive load.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide an engine lubrication device which includes needle bearings thereby uses a reduced amount of lubricant, and yet has no risk for shortage of lubricant in the piston sliding portion. A bearing oil-supply path 21 supplies lubricant to a journal shaft 3 disposed on an upstream side and a conrod large-end bearing 6 disposed on a downstream side. Separately from this, a sliding portion oil-supply path 33 supplies lubricant to a conrod small-end bearing 8 and the piston sliding portion 14. The journal bearing 3 and the conrod large-end bearing 6 are provided by needle bearings 40, 41 respectively. The needle bearing 40 on the upstream side has a lubrication hole 48 of a reduced diameter to limit the amount of lubricant supplied to these needle bearings 40, 41.

The flow-direction switching mechanism is switched between the first state and the second state by switching pins. The switching pins are disposed in the connecting rod body such that directions in which the switching pins are operated are angled with respect to a plane perpendicular to an axis of the first opening.
