摘要： A single acting hydraulic cylinder (100) having a pulling mode and a pressing mode is disclosed. The single acting hydraulic cylinder comprises a cylinder housing (101) and a piston rod (202, 204) arranged within the cylinder housing, where the piston rod can be actuated in response to a hydraulic pressure acting on said piston rod. The piston rod (202, 204) further comprises an axially extending through hole and a pulling portion (204) having an internally threaded section (212a) partly extending into the axially extending through hole in order to engage a threaded portion (316) of a pulling rod (315). When in the pulling mode the single acting hydraulic cylinder (100) further comprises the pulling rod (315) having the threaded portion, and when in the pressing mode the single acting hydraulic cylinder further comprises a pressing rod (203) having a threaded portion (205). Also, when in the pressing mode, the piston rod (202, 204) further comprises a pressing portion (202) having an internally threaded section (206a, 212a) partly extending into the axially extending through hole, in order to engage the threaded portion (205) of the pressing rod (203). Hereby a compact, light and easy-to-operate hydraulic cylinder is provided.

The piston (16) seals in the inserted position against at least one seal (36) whereby the inner space (34) is separated from the chamber (9) by the seal (36). The piston (16) is positioned in the inserted position until it is released through a flow via at least one conduit (37) that connects the chamber (9) and the inner space (34). The conduit (37) may be closed and opened via at least one valve (38).
