    • The present disclosure relates to a reciprocating compressor (10) and a method for assembling the same. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a reciprocating compressor (10) includes: a shell (100) to which a discharge pipe (130) is coupled; a driving unit (200) mounted inside the shell (100) to generate a rotary force; a compression unit (300) having a connecting rod (340) configured to convert the rotary force to a straight driving force, a piston (350) connected to the connecting rod (340), and a cylinder (330) into which the piston (350) is movably inserted; a discharge hose (800) from which a refrigerant compressed in the cylinder (330) is discharged, and disposed to abut an inner circumferential surface of the shell (100); and a connection member (830) configured to connect the discharge hose (800) to the discharge pipe (130), wherein at least a portion of the connection member (830) is inserted into an inner portion of the discharge pipe (130), and another portion thereof is supported outside the discharge pipe (130).
