摘要： There is provided an exhaust apparatus for a diesel engine that rapidly burns an unburned deposit in an upstream exhaust catalyst with heat of a heater. An exhaust apparatus for a diesel engine including a downstream exhaust cleaner 101, an upstream exhaust catalyst 102 provided in the upstream of the downstream exhaust cleaner 101 in an exhaust passage, and a heater 3 includes an engine starter apparatus 131, a control unit 4 configured to control power supply to the heater 3 and an engine start process S12 performed by the engine starter apparatus 131, and a start command unit 105 connected to the control unit 4. The heater 3 is disposed at an exhaust inlet 102a of the upstream exhaust catalyst 102, and when an engine has been stopped and then the start command unit 105 gives the control unit 4 a start command, the control unit 4 performs powering S11 of the heater 3, without performing an engine start process S12 so as to keep the engine stopped for a predetermined period of time after the start command has been given, and subsequently performs the engine start process S12.

The method includes determining an injector thaw period for a reductant injector in the exhaust system when the ambient temperature is less than the predetermined temperature. The method includes determining a tank thaw period for a reductant tank associated with the exhaust system, the reductant tank being configured to supply reductant to the reductant injector. The method also includes controlling (i) a heater to heat the reductant tank for the tank thaw period and (ii) a current provided to the reductant injector for the injector thaw period, such that the tank thaw period and the injector thaw period end at a same time.

The temperature at the particle filter is increased at a controlled rate of temperature increase over time. The exhaust gas purification catalyst of the present disclosure has a substrate, a first catalyst layer containing a catalytic metal for NOx reduction and a NOx storage material and formed on the substrate, and a second catalyst layer containing a catalytic metal for NOx oxidation and formed on the first catalyst layer. In the exhaust gas purification catalyst of the present disclosure, the volume percentage of all pores in the second catalyst layer is 2.82% by volume to 8.30% by volume and the value obtained by dividing the volume of all large pores having a pore volume of 1000 µm 3 or more by the total volume of all medium pores having a pore volume of 10 µm 3 to 1000 µm 3 is 2.44 or less in the second catalyst layer .
