    • For a wasteless elimination of used plastic bottles, the elimination procedure being based on creation of barriers, especially safety barriers, there is designed a panel consisting of resilient hollow columns (13), the columns (13) comprising a pile of tubes (11) furnished with at least one cross baffle (15) and inserted one into the other and assembled, side by side, at least in one row and mutually interconnected into an integral body. The tubes (11) are made of plastic bottles with removed neck pieces (14). The neck piece (14) may be inserted in the bottle body when turned around about 180° with respect to the original position on the bottle body. The assembly of columns (13) is seated in a casing (20) having elastic walls.

    • An impactor for a movable, deformable barrier (10) simulating an automobile, comprising an upright, solid backing support (12), a plurality of energy absorbing impact segments (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) protruding from the support (12), each segment having an outer impact face (27, 37) and each comprising a plurality of layers of honeycomb (11, 13, 15, 17, 19) having different crush strength characterized by increasing crush strength of successive layers from the outer impact face (27, 37) to the support, the layers being separated by and secured to perforate plates (23, 25, 29, 31, 32, 35) therebetween allowing air flow from a crushing layer to the succeeding layers when the layers are successively crushed and each impact segment having a thin vent layer (6c) of noncrushing slotted honeycomb adjacent the support for discharge of air from all of the segments as they are successively crushed. The layers in each segment are of essentially the same width and height. A solid face sheet (21) is at said outer impact face of said segments. The vent layer (6c) has laterally vented honeycomb cells having a crush strength greater than the anticipated impact load. The layers in each segment, except for the vent layer, are individually precrushed sufficient to eliminate the initial compression load spike.
